Parts of Pen-sher are really nice.

Some canny little estates. Lots of townies have migrated out. Will get a lot more when the new estate goes up next to the park

It depends what and who you are involved in/with.

I go by the experience of my family (all born in Penshaw and Shiney).

Penshaw, although not without its faults, has many redeeming features.

Shiney seems to have a high percentage of utter scatters and has little to offer these days

Got killed was my grans nieces boyfriend of sorts. Horrible smack head thief. Bully hit lasses. Hit people With weapons the lot. He took something off my mate and got warned to bring it back within the hour. He didn’t and ended up dead. Horrible for everyone concerned. More thoughts for the family of the lads who done it. Not condoning it but the bloke was awe full and should of just overdosed years ago to save all this shit.
