If as expected the Saudi’s splash the cash, the Premier League will become more interesting. It would be the same in our league. How excited do you get when the opposition team are read out and you haven’t heard of any on them?
Interesting? Haha yeah that’s one word for it unbearable is mine!

Some good points in here but disagree about the Everton jealousy. I worked in Liverpool for 10yrs and it was painful listening to the Evertonians, the Reds used to call them and still do, "bitter blues."
The Everton jealousy did not really exist during the 70’s. Indeed there was a very familial relationship between both clubs.

Herself denying Everton European Cup entry was a turning point.

Unfortunately, I think we'll need to ban all mags from here if the takeover goes through. Too many popping up out of the woodwork with condescending posts and the bastarding thing hasn't even happened yet. A shame for the few decent Mags that have been here for years but this place is ours not theirs at the end of the day.
If we were in their position and they in ours, would you still want them banned? It’s banter. We give them stick at times and they give us stick at times.

Thanks for the voice of reason, none of my comments are never intended to be more than gentle digs in the spirit of banter I have with Sunderland lads at work or the golf course.

Thanks Mirzam, contrary to accusation I do not want to upset people.
But you do...that's why you have this on your profile you sad man...

Accomplished goal to influence Sunderland’s decline to 3rd tier football. Now content this is a permanent state.

As a subversive defender of Simon Grayson’s management was able to rile the RTG supporter opinion to the extent they undermined said manager and players?

As an example of “nudge theory”, I humbly played my part.
😂😂😂😂

It’s a symptom of modern ‘woke’ mentality that some people go out of their way to be offended now.

What was once gentle ribbing seems to be interpreted as motion to war. It is curious to observe.

Come on, that is funny.

There is a simple solution there are different message boards Pure Football, Cornavirus, Parsnip etc why not create a separate one where you can post, if you post outside that forum you would be banned would that keep you happy?

Nah it's not, sorry it's sad...pretending for months to be a Sunderland fan then coming out with that shite? 😂
I remember one skit I did talking about Grayson’s advanced coaching methods and how it would take time for the fans to get to his level.

Most of you thought I was Martin Bain.

Totally depends on what they want to do.

If things keep getting leaked with an expectation of signing top players, delivering a world class academy etc and it doesn’t happen, there will be criticism like any ownership.

They dont seem the type to take criticism well so it could all spill into an absolute shitshow.

Its very very difficult to just have some success purely because you have owners who are wealthy. The net worth is ridiculous but they have massive operations and businesses far more valuable than Newcastle, it isn’t their priority.
The sovereign wealth fund will expect some return from the investment i.e. top flight tv income.

This will mean that the operating model probably won’t change - the irony is that Ashley has managed nufc well and the money making capability is what attracted the Saudis.

I think that their aim will be continual mid table mediocrity.

What about mags only as a forum seeing as you like it on here?

I am not sure how much experience you have in business but I have worked for international corporations for 25 years.

Without doubt the happiest and most successful ones were the ones that invested for long term growth rather than cut for short term gain.

I only ask because I find the comment and your understanding of “well managed” at best one dimensional and, at worst, a poor judgement.

I am confident that the next few years will judge whether Ashley’s approach to business is good management. Let’s see, I am more than content to sit back and enjoy the show.

A sovereign wealth fund will be interested as long as the premier league is throwing off cash. Yes they may look at the long term but they still have to generate more wealth, therefore I cannot see any excessive expenditure as per Manchester City. It isn’t a plaything.
