With so many justifiable objections, they may as well scrap the Owners and Directors test when they rubber stamp this deal, as this simply proves the test is meaningless and money is the only objective for the F.A. and Premier League.
It really depends if the objections fall within the remit of the Owners and Directors test. If they don't then the PL can't refuse the takeover. I reckon the PL is between a rock and a hard place but will be hard pressed to refuse this. This is boiling down to be a turf war between Quatar and the Saudis played out in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, the star spangled banner waits in the wings....

If they'll be taken over by the saudis or not they had enough publicity on them to attract billionaires now. I would rather see Salman at the helm to hate them even more for their lack of morals.

That's quite ironic

the thing I keep coming back to on all this is Amanda Stavely. My understanding is that she is basically brokering the deal for Saudi investors....

Now, she has been here before. She has dealt with Ashley who snubbed her. Why is she so keen to buy Newcastle knowing what he is like?

Surely if the Saudis are as rich as we believe, there are better buys than Newcastle at this current time
Something is off here.

Send them Donald's email address instead.

I can't see it being stopped.

If anything, I think someone connected beIN is releasing this info to exert more pressure on the Premier League. They won't want to ratify the takeover, but they'll know full well the consequences for rejecting it. There's clear and obvious evidence that the Saudis engaged and supported piracy of Premier League games via beoutQ (the name remains hilarious). The French court system agreed beoutQ was using Arabsat satellites. Now, granted, Arabsat is owned by 21 Arab countries, but it was happening on the Saudi's patch. Even with that evidence if they were to reject it they'd be open to a pretty hefty legal battle and given the state of football right now the last thing they want is to be running up a bill like that.

As bor beIN, they're no innocent little lamb in this. They hold a monopoly on middle-eastern rights so they know if a Saudi backed team pitches in the UK they'll start bidding for rights to satisfy domestic demand. It's a seat at the table. They don't want that.

I think the point is if this goes through it shows the whole test is completely pointless and should be scrapped or completely changed.

Investors, invest in potential.

A participant in the English premier league with huge latent support domestically, a significantly devalued brand that could be monetised globally.

I have no doubt that few clubs in world football have the potential future income multiples compared to present earnings that Newcastle has. All acquisitions are made on the expectation of future cash flow.

The real one is the brand. Ashley never invests in brands at all in his business approach, he merely extracts value rather than creates it. It was this neglect which ultimately made him a pariah owner.

It is shrewd business people who know how to cultivate a brands value. To recognise the income potential of growth versus cutting costs.

The different ethos between barrow boy and international corporate financiers.

I think they know the threat by beIN is a red herring if they did pull out the Saudis would be delighted to step in, the PL will struggle to reject as they would have to state their reasons, can you image the legal implications we rejected it because you killed a journalist or we abhor your human rights record. The involvement in piracy would need to be proved with out a doubt, can you see the PL wanting to do this when already at Charlton there are people involved in money laudering. The PL are stretching it out to give the impression they are scrutinising the bid.

Is there no mag message board? Perplexed why three mags would be on here late at night/early morning discussing a mag topic amongst themselves? If a mag board does exist are they simultaneously posting to both? #bizarrebehaviour

What's with all the horse nonces having Saudi flags on their Twitter profiles? Absolutely thick as mince.

there's some good crack on twitter but it also gives loads of mouth breathers a chance to attack anyone and anything.

last week you had a bloke from Amnesty, journos and even the widow of that murdered journalist getting mountains of abuse because they aired their views on the takeover and Bin Salman.

imagine being so bigoted you take to throwing dogs abuse too a murdered blokes widow ffs.

Seriously is there a Mag forum just did a search most of them seem to have very few recent posters really odd.
