Have they promised it? I thought it just came second hand from another journalist. I haven't seen anything over the weekend mind. That in-depth investigation that “The Athletic” is promising sounds very interesting with recent developments.

We aren't skint and are debt free as the interview in the Sunderland echo shows, baffles me why so many believe every newspaper report without waiting to find out the facts
It's a interview out there for all to see, I would believe that over the Times any day
Who do you think will have provided that statement?Don't kow how he's doing ask him, the usual doom mongers are out, they believe a times article, and when a official statement from the club comes out they would still rather believe the times
Whatever people are just nit picking now, you have no idea what is in the confidentiality agreements. You don't believe them fine that's your opinionThe confidentiality agreement didn't seem to apply when they said the obligation to pay back was removed at the request of FPP. Funny that isn't it, very convenient.
I believe the Times as they have nothing to gainSo, who do we believe? A Daily Mail shit stirrer, or the owners who provided details?
Pleased you happy that we are debt free, this message board is suddenly full of financial experts who seem to know more than the club and its investors
The club obviously, if you choose to believe newspapers who don't have full access to accounts and investment then fine that's your choiceWho do you think will have provided that statement?
Whatever carry on and believe the papers, the truth will come out when they sellNo it means they can't comment on due to confidentiality agreements, these things do exist
You don't need to be a expert, read the article just released. I don't pretend to know the in n outs of the clubs finances like many on here even though they don't have a clue what's going on
So you believe SD had a 5 year plan for SAFC because as a neutral and someone of average intelligence I think that's a load of old bollocks? 3 years max then sell for a profit if you ask me and it's all gone horribly wrong. And believe me I want you back playing Wolves in the Prem.No it means they can't comment on due to confidentiality agreements, these things do exist
Well they have already paid back aarge amount of itSo you believe SD had a 5 year plan for SAFC because as a neutral and someone of average intelligence I think that's a load of old bollocks? 3 years max then sell for a profit if you ask me and it's all gone horribly wrong. So madrox needs to pay the club back 11 million but the club is debt free.
The americans invested in madrox not sunderland but used Sunderland as security for the loan. Am I being thick here!!!
Not necessarily. Would you lend someone your entire months wages when the bills need paying? Especially if you didn't know when you would get it back. The club is owed money but doesn’t owe money. Surely that’s a good thing?

We did spend money, we are a league 1 club we arent going to spend a fortune. They said we have to aim for 100 pts to guarantee promotion, if the season starts again we won't need anywhere near 100pts to get promotedIf that's the case why did the board set the manager a target of 100 points before negotiating transfers out of first team footballers, and then bringing in a handful of free transfer journeymen? Meaning we started the "100 point target season" with a first team significantly weaker than the team that failed abjectly the previous season?
Bit of a random leapTo try to hand-wave this away as merely a case of spoilt Safc fans who just want us to break transfer records is to side with the owners against the interests of the club.
I could be wrong. However I think that's exactly the point of setting up Madrox to buy the club. So if madrox goes tits up it takes the hit and the club doesn't go with it. Like I say I could be wrong.Sorry if this has been answered a thousand times already, but do Madrox actually own Sunderland AFC? If Madrox were to bomb, do SAFC go down with them?
Finally, why when buying a football club, would you set up another company (Madrox) to buy it rather than just buy it directly?
According to @doon toon FPP are going to own us in the near futureIf what is true?
Sorry haven’t read the entire thread
Madrox do own Sunderland but if they default on the the loan to FPP then FFP could end with the club. SD won't let that happen.Sorry if this has been answered a thousand times already, but do Madrox actually own Sunderland AFC? If Madrox were to bomb, do SAFC go down with them?
