Depends whether or not he wants another season in league 1 & then if we can afford his wages. Imagine there’ll be championship takers on a free.

Definitely, Blackburn have been linked in the last couple of windows. I think he’ll be away like.

It’s been documented already he wants a big increase and Donald is struggling to meet it. He’s a journeyman and unfortunately I expect him to leave for nothing. I would, however, lay the blame with his agent or him before I’d blame Donald on this one.
Or maybe McLaughlin wants one last contract to set up his family when he retires. Maybe he wants to earn enough and be able to settle down with his family. He turned a big contract to move out to Azerbaijan before coming here. He might want to see what the clubs ambition is before signing up.

We can't keep on blaming the agents.

Yeah, I know he is currently third choice for Scotland but if he has any ambitions of pushing for their #1 shirt before the end of his career then he’d have to make a step up and play well. This is his last shot to do that really imo.

And as hard as it is to take, with all of the uncertainty around the club, I don't think you could blame any senior pro for wanting to move on, especially if it's up a division.

Burge doesn’t fill me with confidence.
It would be criminal to lose him.

And O’nien, what happened to his extension? That went quiet from 5 months ago
I was under the impression that the club have a one year extension clause built into Oniens contract and they have activated it.

Absolutely not. All depends on their own circumstances and ambitions really. I know we pay good wages for league 1 but can imagine those wages are a way below what a championship team can offer

Can’t blame him for testing the waters elsewhere this will be his last big contract. Be a shame to lose him but the clubs a complete mess losing our first choice keeper doesn’t even feel that bad.

He's 32 with a young family, I can't blame him for wanting his last big deal to be lucrative.

Big increases aren’t going to happen during Coronavirus, Football in the lower leagues is likely to be damaged for quite a few years on the back of this.

He is one of a few players who could make the step up and arguably deserves a better wage than a League One wage. We will end up replacing him with someone worse.

He has expressed a desire to stay, and we should be keeping him.
