It's pretty simple. If Hitler bought your club would you turn a blind eye to what he was doing in Germany or Europe?

Because what you said was "it doesn't bother me once we are successful". How far would you go just to see your team win a cup?
If you want an honest debate instead of flippant remarks then you have to stop putting words in my mouth.

I can really only reply honestly to actual events rather than hypothetical scenarios, but:

No I wouldnt accept Hitler for a few reasons. He wasn't running his own country in a bad way, he wanted to conquer Europe and force other people's to have his same beliefs. Very different as is the body count. Saudi Arabia do not want to invade us and turn us all into Muslims.

As ex forces from a long line of solders, I would have taken up arms against him not invited him into my city.

There's my thinking, it's honest and my not hold to your moral values. I don't really care!

I look at my morals as something in a tighter circle, something I control and affects the people I know or meet. These days morals are more about putting up flags, clapping the longest on a Thursday and saying nice shiny things on social media and getting outraged when appropriate.

I think it's the little things like being polite to strangers, giving up a seat on public transport to females and the elderly, holding doors open, not stealing, working for a living, only hurting another in defence of yourself or someone else etc...I'm actually more likely to get a dirty look than a thank you for most of these acts!😂...these are the things that set my morals!

This proposed takeover has too many similarities with the last one. Sky Sports and the big outlets said last time that Ashley had agreed to sell etc and it looked like it was going to happen only for weeks of radio silence until Ashley broke his silence saying it was off.

Likewise wasnt our deal with Dell quite widely reported only for the same to happen?

When City were bought out it happened in about three days after the story broke. Same when Hall sold his shares to Ashley.

Mind, our Drumaville takeover dragged on but wasn't that due to due diligence etc? I seem to recall that Murray (seller) and Quinn kept the media and fans quite up to date on the process and they were open about it taking some time to complete.

It's probably just wishful thinking but I think this takeover news will fizzle out only for Ashley to announce he's staying a few weeks down the line.

Plus I'd imagine Ashley will want to squeeze every penny out of them. He knows he's dealing with an unlimited pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. Maybe he's changed his initial price (re Luke Edwards tweet)

None of our other takeovers got anywhere near this stage, neither did your Dell one. So yes, wishful thinking! 😉

Who knows, time will tell.

How do you gather it’s off? And why would Staveley lose that deposit?

It’s just what I’ve heard from somebody. A person who granted won’t know it all but certainly knows more than me.
The deposit will go but she may be covered by her backers on that. Apparently it’s not the money that bothers her but more her reputation. It wasn’t that long ago Ashley described her as a time waster so if / when this falls through that mud will absolutely stick for good.
Likewise with Ashley, he really wants to sell but if he’s left with the club then he’s a bigger baddie than he’s ever been despite actually wanting rid. He’ll take a big hit commercially and on tickets which given his current retail predicament he can’t afford to do.
Basically both parties can’t afford to be seen to be the one responsible for this.
As of yet nobody is really sure what has actually triggered it as both apparently want it done.
This isn’t me ITK at all just what I’ve heard. The huge delay in an announcement certainly suggests it though.

It's just going through the tests, no delay. Only the PL will stop it, not Ashley or the buyers!
Your last one did seem 'advanced'. To be honest I'm not sure if the media have a f***ing clue. They (even Sky Sports) were full of shit last time.
😂 yes mate, they are all full of shit! You have to read EVERY article, ignore most of it whilst reading between the lines.

Nah, there was interest last time but that was it as the corresponding prices were miles apart. I did go on a bit in the news but nothing was happening!

Regarding his current retail predicament, yes he's making a loss at the moment but when (if 😂) things go back to normal in a year or so he'd be able to claw that back. As it's been pointed out, NUFC grants him free global advertising for his brand, not sure he'd want to part with that easily. Him agreeing to sell at a lower price because of the virus seems a bit of a panic sell to me. I'm not sure multi billionaires like him do knee jerk decisions like this but what do I know.

He bought it with a knee jerk!😂

It's not just the coronavirus that's hurting him. He continues to invest in the high street which is dying and just had to pay a £600m tax bill to Belgium he was hoping to get away with.

A 300m cash injection right now will be very helpful!

That's a decent comment in fairness, but they haven't yet at Sheff Utd or Man City where the former is owned 100% by a Saudi Prince and the latter by a UAE Prince which if you go on the Human Rights Watch page have huge problems with HR's.

Said on here weeks ago nobody on here cared less about Saudi involvement at Sheff Utd. Plenty admitted that through ignorance as much as indifference. Either way until Newcastle got linked not a single fan bothered about morals in Premier League of Saudi ownership. Indeed many held Sheff Utd as a model for Sunderland to follow.

But he takes millions upon millions out of the club so why would he sell his nest egg?
