So they get taken over and spend 200m. Means nowt. Everton spent 200m and ended up with a worse team, as did Man Utd. West Ham spent a fortune and ended up in bottom 3. Arsenal have some great players and can only reach mid table. Whereas Sheff Utd have spent nowt and are pushing for the Champs League. Football is a funny old game as they say. But in reality Man City & Liverpool are too far ahead of everyone and will be for the next 10yrs imo

sadly the who;e situation has changed. the market has been predicted to collapse so £200 mill goes further as clubs sell assets to survive. its probably;y this predicted collapse and opportunity to exploit that has sealed the deal.I would expect that any club with that backing is going to consistently be a top 6 team

worse still fpp may have to be relaxed as some of the big clubs are going to make huge losses this year

then there is the huge conflict of interest if saudis start paying millions for TV rights which can certainly influence the cl rules. which are to protect the elites tv income

Mags better get in champions league sharpish

this is a juggernaut that needs to be stiopped before it starts

My point is, any genuine Newcastle supporter would surely be mixing with their own on their own forums, discussing the possible new owners rather than spend so much time on here

Obviously you have never ventured over to experience one of our forums... they are far from stellar sir.
A tricky "What would you prefer?" question here...

1) Mags takeover falls through and we stay in League 1

2) Mags takeover goes through - they dominate English football and win shit load of cups...BUT... this rejuivinates North East football meaning we also get taken over and return to the Premier league as a result.

What would people prefer?

Not a single solitary SAFC fan replies with No.1.

I want number 2 also. Miss the Derby games. To dominate would be great. I will however be over the moon with winning the Carling / Caribo Cup thing once. Who we play and how win beat them is also totally irrelevant to me.

I wonder if when they come in to get the fans onside they follow the Donald model, become active on twitter tweeting things like nobody in Saudi has heard of Sunderland.
