Interesting RR interview with a Notts County fanzine. Put a slightly more positive impression on things. That being said, I’m bristling at the constant theme of ‘good contacts’, good relationships with agents and a history of bringing in well-known players. Reeks of more of the same tired old stuff that Donald has already tried - and failed - with. If he’s gonna be a success here he needs to be the absolute opposite of that IMO.

I find football to be a very bizzare business community, if you speak to anyone who's been involved in the game they often talk about people with good contacts and it stands for people agents are in bed with usually, if you want to buy a football club or buy a player it seems being able to afford them is the least of your worries if the agent doesn't like you they just won't be signing, the system if fucked at the minute and allows slimy twats a dark corner to give each other backhanders and reach arounds without any punishment.

I dunno. It’s only a game if you want to play it. For the next few years there’s a window where, if you can identify players based on better understanding of performance data and fit, you can get them in before even the agents realise what they have. That’s before you consider their relentless self interest. If we could plug into what smart clubs like Liverpool look for in a player we can sell ourselves as a realistic stepping stone for a promising player. In the end, money and opportunity will always win out.

“Close personal friend of charlie methven”

There we f***ing have it

f***ing piss take man... Hope these twats sell up and fuck off sharpish.

Hill, Reid, Ross, Parkinson and now this fella... literally every big decision Donald has had to make has been the wrong person and appointed each time.

He talks big yet delivers absolute dross, you can add him throwing a shit load of money at Grigg to the list as well the tosser.

Doesn’t make sense to me marra, if the Chronicle were given two stories, they would have still printed the Sunderland one, a tiny little paragraph, which it probably deserves anyhow. Appointing Rodwell would only be back page news of the Beano Bob. Like I said earlier, I admire your loyalty, but surely you don’t believe that story you’ve been told and your allegiance must be waning over what this idiot is doing to our club.
Spot on.
