My point is 6 months ago while i disapproved of the human rights violations I was not out demonstrating against them. In 6 months time i will still disapprove of their human rights violations and i still won't be out demonstrating.

I am curious because I genuinely have no idea, what is it precisely that you expect myself as a Newcastle fan to do should this take over go ahead, what is it you feel would be the right thing for me to do.

I think we all know how m will demonstrate against the new owner.
 

i think it’s perfectly clear that NUFC fans will not be protesting, but what about other clubs fans ?
There’s clearly, certainly on here, a lot of anger about the Saudis which is due to their atrocities and not that they are buying NUFC.
Therefore, what do you think is the likelihood of other fans protesting to vent the obvious anger. Would you as SAFC fans for example join in on a march ? Be fairly easy to organise with you bring local. Perhaps Boro etc could join in ??

Dont need to worry about your neighbour's no matter how much you want to think it's only us that are kicking up a fuss.

I find it funny first sniff of money and totally shown your support for the massive bunch of hypocrites that they are.

I think everybody knows football fans are hypocritical beasts. That has never been in doubt nor the point I raised.
My question is though, which I think is fair, is that given the level of anger do we think there will be demonstrations or will it be restricted to social media ??

Funniest thing about this is that the workers rights stick you used to use to beat Ashley with has now turned into a proper golden pole to beat an owner with but because of a chance of money will you beat the owners with new bigger stick?

I wont be doing anything different.
When the football starts again, I will be going for a few pints then going to the match. I will be doing this regardless of whether Ashley still owns the club, or if it the Saudis. As fans you have absolutely no control over who owns the club. This takeover might happen, it might not. But that is not dependent on the opinions of supporters, outraged or not. The supporters will be very low on the list of priorities for both the seller and the buyer.

This is laughable. Just in general, any right minded human being would be against any, and I mean ANY takeovers or investments made by or on behalf of the Saudi state, with the purpose of whitewashing their absolutely atrocious human rights record. This goes well beyond football.

I just had a quick skim through bin Salman’s Wikipedia there as I was typing this, and it’s hardly laudable is it? Let’s take a look:

Other cultural developments (obviously using the term loosely here) under his reign include the first Saudi public concerts by a female singer, the first Saudi sports stadium to admit women (!), an increased presence of women in the workforce (all praise his holiness bin Salman),and opening the country to international tourists by introducing an e-visa system, allowing foreign visas to be applied for and issued via the Internet. His program aims to diversify the Saudi economy through investment in non-oil sectors including technology and tourism. In 2016, he announced plans to list the shares of the state oil company .

And those are his achievements! Making Saudi Arabia slightly less medieval, but still leaving them at least a hundred years behind some of the less civilised countries in the world. I mean, whoopity-f***ing-do, thanks to his kindly nature, women in Saudi Arabia are now allowed to go to work (something women in pretty much every other country in the world have taken for granted for decades upon decades if not centuries or millennia), not to mention those same women have for aeons taken for granted the fact they can attend a pop concert let alone sing at one. And if you think that graciously allowing a woman to attend a gig in 2020 is an achievement, then you’re operating on pretty f***ing shaky moral ground to begin with.

Now let’s look at the even worse stuff:

pete, I agree with you. It’s hypocritical and a mass u turn, nobody is disputing that. Maybe your grief is with NUFC fans and their hypocrisy which is cool but my question was maybe more aimed at the folk who are more angry with the Saudi regime

I've got no grief find it funny tbh.

If anything so far this has done the opposite that the Saudis wanted as it has brought their horrible ways onto the main stage so people who didnt know previously now do.

I've even learned as I didnt know Sheff Utd were Saudi owned. Not in the same league mind as the bloke who will be your owner is the crown prince.

Savages that's the top and bottom of it and you may not believe me and I dont care either way but I truly wouldnt want them anywhere near my club.
