If it falls through and they decided to buy Sunderland I reckon a lot of people would be delighted despite what they're saying at the minute.
Supporting the club doesn't mean you support their actions away from football.
If they do well for the club people won't have a problem with what else they do because it's easy to separate one from the other.

I must admit to being unware that the Saudi PIF had bought Tesla shares which I've read they've subsequently sold. They no doubt have shares in many companies - it's what an investment fund does. However, comparing the two is ridiculous. The Saudi's bought 3-5% of Tesla shares. Elon musk remains the CEO. They are buying 100% ownership of the company that is NUFC. Bin Salman becomes the majority share owner. You must be able to see this. I appreciate you're desperately trying to justify the purchase of your club by such a bunch of unscrupulous bastards but seriously, leave it. There is no justification.
Actually they are only having 80%. So you can drop 20% of your outrage!

Hilarious after all the outrage at being owned by Ashley. Wonder if the same will be said about this lot.

I hope that MP Chi Onwura is going to be making a stand about this in the commons.

You can with knackers like you
Because I agreed with a post .....hey man..come back to me when your balls have dropped

It would be interesting... wouldn't it

'If they do well for the club people won't have a problem with what else they do'. f***ing SERIOUSLY? If Newcastle win a few games then killings, proxy wars, human rights abuses are totally fine?

Sadly, ladies and gentlemen, there you have the mentality of your average NUFC fan.

I want serious money invested in SAFC but not at any cost. I wouldn't want these fuckers anywhere near my club no matter what the investment. Seriously.

Not me.......there’s bigger things to life than football.

As opposed to Newcastle who are welcoming evil people to the club! Terrible morality there.

I am not trying to justify anything.
Let me be crystal clear: The Saudi government does many things that I know about that I disapprove of, I am sure they do many things I don't know about that I would disapprove of if I had knowledge of them.
The vision 2030 project is not one of the things i disapprove as I believe it is a step in the right direction.
As i do not disapprove of vision 2030 I have no issues when the PIF invest in western Business, I'm happy to own a Tesla while they had a stake in the company, I am happy to stay in Hilton hotels knowing they have a stake in that, to use technology they are invested in, I have no problems with them investing in my bank. etc etc etc.
I also have no problem continuing to support my football club now that they have invested in that.
None of this detracts from or changes the fact that they also do many things I very much disapprove of.

Your last sentence says a lot about what’s wrong with society and if you really believe that, then I really feel sorry for you. If this regime were to get involved with Sunderland, I would seriously consider giving up my season ticket. I would love to see my club successful, but not at any cost.

<<<<Well said

Let’s have a look at what you said and break it down:

Dear Boris

I don't like the views and practices of Saudi Arabia.
Please stop them from investing in western business, especially Newcastle United as i really don't like them.
I am very very outraged about the whole thing.

Kind Regards
A disgruntled Sunderland fan”

What you’re doing here is suggesting that the objections the poster has to Saudi Arabia can only solely stem from the fact he supports another club, and that aside there’s no reasonable basis for opposing the purchase of Newcastle United by a Saudi investment fund. You completely decontextualise and remove the fact the Saudi state has one of the most despicable records on human rights in the world — the evidence for this is substantial and everyone is aware of it and have been for a long time, so no reason to waste time citing sources, and they still adhere to what practically the rest of the world consider barbaric medieval practices.

This is known as whitewashing, which incidentally is what the Saudi investment fund is looking to do by purchasing Newcastle. So perhaps you’re all suited to one another afterall, you ethically abhorrent shitstain.
I am suggesting that the posters objections are a result of football club rivalry not that there is no other basis to appose the sale.
If the poster would like to show me the instances in which he as apposed all the other businesses the PIF have invested in or show me evidence of all his past vocal campaigns against sport washing I am more than happy to apologise to him.
If however as I suspect his outrage at the PIF being allowed to invest in western business begins and ends with acquisition of shares in NUFC then I'll call it as I see it and call sour grapes.
