Mag colleague of mine just said, "why don't you Boycoutt Sunderland with bed sheets like we did, you might get a rich Arab owner"

Now it starts

Amnesty International have concerns over lots of things, they are probably more concerned about the 5 billion pounds worth of weapons we have sold the Saudi's since the Yemen conflict began.
I wonder why it this particular concern of Amnesty that you have chosen to nail your flag to the mast for.
I haven’t. I’ve just pointed out that they’ve shown concern. It’s hardly Abramovich at Chelsea as mentioned in the post I quoted.
I do find it amusing how many Newcastle fans are trying to defend Or excuse anything relating to the new ownership purely because of their wealth, especially after years of having made such a fuss over Mike Ashley. Those protests seem laughable now.

They got a new owner because someone matched his price. Making total clowns of themselves had no impact whatsoever. Same applies here and I’d rather not make a twat of myself cheers

It’s not just amnesty though is it? The condemnation is gaining momentum which has to be a worry. When it first came out it was construed as jealousy by us, are they envious of you ?

'If they do well for the club people won't have a problem with what else they do'. f***ing SERIOUSLY? If Newcastle win a few games then killings, proxy wars, human rights abuses are totally fine?

Sadly, ladies and gentlemen, there you have the mentality of your average NUFC fan.

I want serious money invested in SAFC but not at any cost. I wouldn't want these fuckers anywhere near my club no matter what the investment. Seriously.

Your last sentence says a lot about what’s wrong with society and if you really believe that, then I really feel sorry for you. If this regime were to get involved with Sunderland, I would seriously consider giving up my season ticket. I would love to see my club successful, but not at any cost.

That last sentence is of what I said is true.
Evident on a lesser scale with the Ashley protests. Team doing well, protests stop.
Most supporters didn't even protest anyway.
In the main people only really care about going to the match and their team doing well. The off field stuff won't or doesn't bother people. If these potential new owners throw a load of money at it and the team does well people will be happy to ignore the rest.
They have supported the team before these owners and will do after it. Same as Ashley, supporting the club doesn't mean they support Ashley's zero hours contracts or workhouse conditions.

I would have to know to which parties your refer to when you speak of gathering condemnation before I could comment on it. I know why Amnesty are against it and I know why Qatar are, are you referring to something else?

Personally I would say I am as skeptical this take over will happen as anyone but if it does break down i think the most probable reason will be a change of heart by Ashley and then after that a change of heart by the Saudi's.
I don't see a letter from Amnesty having any impact what so ever. Matters of state and matters of large finance will do what it always does when Amnesty shouts about something which is to ignore them.
