State sponsored murders, killings etc. Then yeah. The argument was that sheff utd owner is fine as he's not the gaffer. Part of the family but not the head guy so all good. So sopranos Ralph would be fine as long as not Tony. Strange logic that given the (correct) outrage at the Saudi state & ruling family.

Personally I would say I am as skeptical this take over will happen as anyone but if it does break down i think the most probable reason will be a change of heart by Ashley and then after that a change of heart by the Saudi's.
I don't see a letter from Amnesty having any impact what so ever. Matters of state and matters of large finance will do what it always does when Amnesty shouts about something which is to ignore them.

Tell him they haven’t bought them yet, and if the ground swell of anger about it gets any bigger they’ll be off like a f***ing shot. Saudis don’t like negative publicity.

I didn't know Kashoggi was married but I would assume she would rather people talking about how the Saudi's murdered her husband not about there football team, I think very understandable that she would be against the deal.
As for ex footballers I would guess a bit of virtue signalling for the most part but if you give me a name i'll elaborate on the individual if i can.
