Have they traded in their unacceptable face of capitalism for the journalist dismembering opposition beheading autocrats yet?

Or is it yet another takeover that won't happen?

Seems to have veered a bit here.

The mags have been bought as a PR exercise for an awful regime. The number of Saudi flags appearing in twitter handles demonstrates its already working. If Newcastle fans are comfortable with this then that's fine. Wouldn't be the first set of dodgepots to own a football club. It does make me laugh that they used Mike Ashley's treatment of staff and his advertising his other businesses as a stick to beat him with, however. Added to him investing in other things at the same time (I await the complaints when PIF continue to acquire other things). Just goes to show that success, or the mere thought of it, on the pitch can go a long way.

Most of us are UK based however and all exist in a system that trades arms extensively with the Saudis. I assume most of us don't consistently lobby the government to stop this? I know I don't.

As far as their success or otherwise, not especially arsed until we sort ourselves out. Donald must go.

I have never pretended to be a Sunderland fan. My posting history is consistent. Please waste a few hours checking.

Yes you have. You then came out with shite like you were a covert agent...pathetic 😂
no thanks Sweetheart

What a knacker...

I've got loads of mag mates with me being a Geordie and absolutely none of them are on here doubt they even know of the place.

Reason being they are not sad freaks. Aye they've had their fun in group chat which is expected and fair play but that's been it.

To sign up to a Sunderland site pretending to be a Sunderland fan when your a mag is just weird.

to make a profit...thats why business people buy businesses..ot to give money away..
the ruebens have been clear for a long time they want to own trophy assets because they have lots of cash but arent as wqell netwroekd as they should be..owning a stake ina premeir legaue club allows them to network with other very rich people..ad access those deals.
thats why the west ham guys own west ham, and before that birmingham..they said thats how you make moey from a club..the contacts you make and the doors it opens up.

the saudis are doing it for reputation laundering..as long as ewcastle are in the premer league its good for their rep. why spend more tha they have to?

yes but the tuirver is going to fall massively next year..and we wont then..
Is your n key broken?
Most of them would never say half they stuff they post face to face to safc fans as they know the consequences but that's the Internet for you
 what are these consequences?

I’m man enough to admit it would be proper shite when/if this happens. Them being took over spending their way to the top end of the league, meanwhile were stuck in league one with an owner taking loans etc with little sign of planing or forward thinking. Anyone who says they ain’t just a little jealous is talking bollocks, look how excited the thought of dell coming aboard got us. Never mind eh stewy will see us right haha.

One word for you marra, respect. Wilde's quote springs to mind, "some people know the price of everything and the value of nothing"

All these gloating, blinkered mags are fixated on the price of this. Completely ignoring the value of respect, something they will lose in its entirety from the footballing world should this takeover go through.

Give me respect over cheap bought trophies any day of the week.

Same here, plenty of mates who are Mags, most I can have a decent bit crack with. These sad tossers coming on pretending to be lads fans? Spot on, totally weird.

I don't think it is working. The Mags are happy, but all it's really done is shine a spotlight back on the regime. Everything written about it from a non-Newcastle perspective has been negative. The timing is terrible too. Column inches need to be filled, and this is now the only major non-Coronavirus football story. They'd be pretty much universally hated. From a PR perspective, it's worth nowhere near the hassle.

Connecting the dots, I can't think this leak has come from the Saudi state.
