The other perspective is that the massive profile that Newcastle United projects back on the Saudi regime forces them into a cultural reformation.

If this media microscope brings about the emancipation of female and minority groups in Saudi it would really demonstrate the power of footNewcastle United.

Geordieism would become a byword for progressing humanity.

As John Lennon sang, maybe I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one.

They could drop “coming home” by Dire Straits from the team walk out and perhaps use something more life affirming?

Yes but the high profile of this Saudi involvement they will relish
Noocarsell walking into a pr disaster
All the social and local engagement stunts won't over up this apart from switching on the e Xmas lights in South Shields

Does anybody really take any notice of them?
Are they not just like Greenpeace? No powers just a lot of shouty people that nobody really cares about, but they feel important, then get help off people like Chris Martin?

Have they even got any power?

Well that would certainly be uncharted territory. To think we’ve kept our nose clean under Ashley’s tenure, too...

I genuinely think people are underestimating what will happen. This is probably Saudi Arabia’s most publicised investment. Saudi Arabia is a major target for Amnesty International and other human rights groups, Newcastle games will now become a focus for their protests, it’s a perfect platform for them to be heard given the worldwide reach of the Premier League.

im not convinced. I can’t ever recall amnesty international protesting at man city ? I read an article once how they accused them of sports washing once but that’s about it.

There’s a bit of difference between fat mikes shenanigans and a regime which beheads children for protesting against them

How many beheadings of children has Mohammed Bin Salman authorised? I’m genuinely curious.
What was the Ashley pr disaster other than being self inflicted by deluded fans that make newcazzle a laughingstock
Net spend Rafa Rafa man

How about in the last month:
  • Trying to keep his stores open by arguing they are essential services
  • Furloughing our entire non-playing staff to save money when we made a significant profit last year.

As most of you seem to think there’s nothing wrong with these people taking over, if it doesn’t turn out how you hope, how many of your lot would be willing to turn up at his house/palace or restaurant and hurl abuse at him given how he treats people?

Youngest I can see on there is 17?
Does Martin Samuel have any links with Ashley and his PR people (KBA?)?

Wonder if this could be Big Mike's first, indirect, response to the one sided stream of info?

Well, he’s vehemently defended him in the past.
