I’m over the moon about the Saudi investment because it’s going to cause an absolute shitstorm for the mags. Amnesty international have already had their say, I fully expect things to ramp up once the takeover goes through.

it won’t really. Firstly, people don’t really care who buys football clubs, I’m sure Saudis buy all manner of things that don’t create anything’s no more than a whimper. Secondly, there’s more pressing issues currently taking place.

personally ( whilst I don’t know a great lot of what it is they do ) I’m likewise uneasy about there regimes.

Not bending anything - I agree. Most of their practices are disgusting, utterly disgusting. Some of ours (selling weapons and arming terrorists, unjust war in Iraq etc) are too. Very few countries are innocent.

I wouldn’t want my football club associated with them but that’s just me. I am sure it won’t bother many of your fans but it’s definitely sportswashing

I genuinely think people are underestimating what will happen. This is probably Saudi Arabia’s most publicised investment. Saudi Arabia is a major target for Amnesty International and other human rights groups, Newcastle games will now become a focus for their protests, it’s a perfect platform for them to be heard given the worldwide reach of the Premier League.
