Highest ever points total at the time as well and won a cup, but all this was covered forensically on here years ago.

I want to hear more about the three games we had in 2016 against our relegation rivals. Hasn’t been looked at iirc.

I'll give you the abridged version from wikipedia, and then if you want I'll paste the full version from the Premier League handbook 19/20.

Here is the simplified version;

Disqualifying events
The Premier League has tighter restrictions than the Football League or National League. In general, a businessman will fail the test if:

  • They have power or influence over another Football League club

  • They hold a significant interest in another Football League club

  • They become prohibited by law from being a director

  • They are filing for

  • They have been director of a club while it has suffered two or more unconnected events of

  • They have been a director of two or more clubs of which, while they have been director, has suffered an event of insolvency

So nowt about ordering the murder of journalists or dumping bombs on civilians in the Yemen then, is what you’re saying. I figured as much. I’m pretty sure he’ll pass all of the above and therefore be fit and proper 👍

Yes, that sort of thing doesn't really come into it. Doesn't really affect ability to run a club properly.

Which is all the PL seem bothered about.

There's a bit in the handbook about doing stuff in other territories which may be a crime here, but there's plenty of other examples where they don't seem to apply that rule.

I also read the fit and proper test is reviewed monthly for all owners and directors.

The one who brought up Ashley's tenure as chairman at noocarsell up in parliament
What's she had to say about the Saudis as they may stop her going to the match being a women
In her twitter feed she says she is looking forward to discussing such matters with the Saudis or words to that effect
Then some reply about keeping politics and football apart
After all the mouthing off she's done about Ashley this where look North itv and the comical need to be stepping up to the mark

im asking you, if this Saudi group decided to buy yous would you have the same moral high ground and boycott the club?

judging by your reply , you wouldn’t
I wouldn’t, neither would any on here.
Reality is we’re in the doldrums and sick of it, your takeover is another example of the apathy spreading further.
You are right to be excited so would we.
We can only dream of such news at the moment, a Mike Ashley would be huge for us right now that’s where we’re at.
People playing moral high ground on here are same people who would ridicule you if roles were reversed

Well sadly you might be right, but I would hope those of us who know a thing or two about Bin Salman and have criticised him in the past (long before he had a connection with Amanda Staveley) would at least be uncomfortable. Remember, some of our fanbase even took issue with Pauli Di Canio’s appointment as manager! I mean I didn’t, but then he’s no Muhammad Bin Salman. Would we really be OK with the things he’s been accused of. If so, then what does that say about football fans?
