I would avoid the club

cheers, why not just say you wouldn’t go to the matches? I respect your stance, personally I don’t give a fuck about being Saudi owned .
Champion ...I live in Blyth..near Ridley Park and love it .
Two minutes from the beach...which is very handy ... especially during this moment of time for our hour of exercise.
Been to the Old Ashdene a couple of times ...come out once and there were swans all over ..
Ashington and Blyth have their detractors...but I find that most of the people that live there are salt of the earth .

cheers.

As an impartial observer of North East Football this reveals a fundamental difference between the two clubs and supporters. Undoubtedly this fuels the impression the clubs forge on a national scale and in the media.

There is a romantic notion with Newcastle that captivates people. Difficult to pinpoint it but we see it in the mythical number 9 shirt, the associations with transcend figures such as Keegan and Robson.

The “atmosphere”, which has been largely absent over the last 10 years but it is almost a trademark association with Newcastle that somehow and some way is still attractive to a billionaire prospective buyer.

That is what got under the skin of such a renowned super coach as Benitez and beguiles people who want to buy into it.

As north easterners we all recognise Sunderland has a the same traits and associations but it never comes to national or international prominence in the way it does at Newcastle.

it’s a peculiar phenomenon, really, that somehow has outlived a 13 year reign of asset stripping under Ashley.

He’s summed it up though. You’ve not won a title in 93 years and you’ve won fuck all of any importance since Elvis was a kid. Massive cloob though.
The trophy comment is irrelevant to the comment I made about them. Having said that it does make the support their team gets more remarkable.

To what extent? Not go?
I have no idea but I certainly would care. I wouldn't 'not give a fuck'.

People aren't necessarily lying if they say they wouldn't be happy with having people like MBS in the money of the club

Just like you aren't lying if you say you wouldn't mind

He follows all north east teams yer knar.
Massive advocate of the heritage of the North East of England and bringing inward investment into the region.

As you suggest I have to rise above petty rivalries and actively seek out the results of both teams.

That’s fair enough. Does have a bit of sour grapes on here about it too though.

Wow, do you write for the Chronical by any chance?

Downie saying don’t be expecting astronomical transfer fees being spent. Unlucky.
There is a lot of events that need to take place before this takeover comes to pass.

News outlets that would not normally print gossip and rumour, internationally, have presented the takeover as a deal in motion. Indeed it was in the FT on Tuesday.

Interestingly, one notable exception is the Sunderland Echo a newspaper of record and bellwether for fact based news.

They have not published the takeover story, at all, which may well suggest that a lot of us have got ahead of ourselves in committing 124 pages, on this thread, to the story.
Wow, do you write for the Chronical by any chance?
Mine is a selfless prose, really.
