Sure, but its not a big leap of faith. Newcastle finished 10th, 13th and 13th (currently) last 3 seasons with a relatively small net spend in that time. With a healthy investment getting into the top half should be very plausible and nudging for a Europa place isnt far fetched.
 


What's even more embarrassing is that I had genuinely forgotten that was the Semi. I was referring to Benfica under Pards (which I was at - trying to claw back some respect) :oops:

Man City knew world class players would move to north west because of Liverpool and Man Utd.

Throwing money will attract the wrong kind of player. Especially if they can only offer an extra 50k a week what the top teams can.

Yes. I think if the owners are seriously minted and want to be serious contenders, they’ll bring in their own people or appoint someone with previous knowledge.

It’s a risk to a club any size putting someone with no experience (I don’t think she has any) of running a football club.

Before you get your knickers in a twist and laugh at me comparing Newcastle to other clubs, I'm not. However, being wealthier than other clubs historically makes all the difference. Look at Real Madrid and the Galacticos etc when they fell down the pecking order even slightly they spent hugely. Money can make a massive impact. Obviously FFP brings about other issues but to suggest it doesn't play a key part is laughable.

There are a couple of alternative proposals. One is to stay on the existing site and turn the pitch through 90 degrees. This would create more space to develop the plot towards 80,000. The leaves would then be the main stand. East stand and Barrack Road would be behind the goals.

Theres a lot more to do in China than Newcastle, how many have came back? And how many world class players have went to China in their prime? Oscar gets 400,000 a week in China, are Newcastle going to do that? For someone or his above average ability

They got them 30 year ago, a lot has changed- and they left soon after as well.

If we are talking about elite players like Neymar, Mbappe etc i think thats obvious, I dont think people are being serious when they talk about them by the way.

But top, top class footballers will go anywhere where the money is.

There's nuermous examples.
