I think it’s pretty certain it’s of natural origin (if you can call eating a bat natural mind). It’s how nearly all pandemics of this type originate, viruses regularly jump from species to species on the one occasion but never mutate to be able to replicate and transmit from the new species to another member of that species. Very occasionally they do as is the case with Covid 19.

we’ve already seen a case where this same virus has jumped into another species, in this case cats and the New York tiger but it hasn’t mutated to replicate from cat to cat.

remember if a virus fails to mutate to be able to replicate and transmit within a species, it will not be a problem for that said species.
