Further lockdown needed

You reckon mate? I reckon they are done till Sept. I do reckon you will see some sports back (albeit behind closed doors) in May. I can see them making a big thing of the Derby in June.
I just think reopening schools would be the logical first step. Once you do that it means a lot of people can start getting back to work. International travel is the interesting one.

Forgetting foreign travel. will we be able to even go for breaks away in this country by end of July🤞🤞 few people on here must have some booked up.
Would you even want to? Personally I'm writing off any holidays until next year. It's meant to be a relaxing and enjoyable time. I think it would be anything but if you went anywhere this year.

After yesterday deaths I hope we get further lockdown measures. Us and the USA are accelerating at a alarming rate. Easter weekend next week is going be a rite shit fest if the weather picks up like predicted. Can you imagine how many people go out good Friday. Scary thought. The government are full of shit.
The ‘spike’ is the result of people arseing about before the lockdown was imposed. There is a time lag.

I honestly think the schools in some areas will be back after May half term.

Why?
There is not a chance of that happening, unless we get a dramatic change in a short space of time.
We still have no cure and the testing is a joke.

Most of those in these death figures will have contracted the virus when the UK was business as usual (so you're talking around 2-3 weeks ago now).

So expect the rise to continue until maybe next week. If the lockdown is working we will begin start to see figures reduce. If you've been following the guidance the past 2 weeks and are not yet showing any symptoms, then you've already mitigated your chances of contracting it substantially (for the time being).

But absolutely no need to consider any further measures at the moment.

I agree with you. I think there is an argument for loosening the restriction in more rural or less at risk areas - even at the best of times in our village you barely see folk from one day to the next - you can't treat that the same as the London Underground.

We also furloughed our factory (non-essential) although I reckon they would be safer at work because it processes natural stone and the employees are all issued with FFP3 face masks as a part of their normal day to day PPE (and the hand workers have full respiratory hoods).

It's 8 weeks until May half term. The peak will have passed by then hopefully. Notice that I said "some" areas.

Too much risk of a 2nd wave that could be worse than the 1st, i agree the powers that be will be in a state of limbo but they will have to change the testing policy or maybe the disease may just die out - thats unlikely.
Boris and co will be ultra cautious over this.
September maybe - Again an opinion.

Imo, they will open non essential shops and allow people to move around more - albeit subject to social distancing. Pubs won’t reopen until July at the earliest.

Sport will make an appearance, but behind closed doors. We might be able to start attending again in late July/early August.

Those that can work from home, will continue to do so until mid Summer to reduce the impact on the roads/public transport
I can't see any football. Being played in stadiums with big crowds at all , certainly not in 2020 no way

Where do we go out to?

Pubs closed, can't drive anywhere, one day is the same as the next at the moment.
