New Music Releases Thread

The Orbs new record is good. Starts off housey, then goes ambient then dub reggae. You’ll enjoy if you like the orb but probs not going to attract new fans.

Nicolas jaar new one not for me. No beats in it.

What’s this new Dylan song? 17 minutes on the Kennedy assassination!
Reviews have been crackamendous. Five stars from The Guardian today.
Benn listening to “Can’t Do Much“ almost every day for six weeks or so. Gonna give the album a serious go.

what’s the deal with these things ? Is it just people all tuning in and listening to a record ?
I went to see Stephen malindar in london few months and he had a listening party of the Pop Groups first album. Was a room full of people stroking their chins bizarrely listening to an album

Everyone sets it away at the same time and has crack about it and fire questions to those who made the music. Not saying there won't be a few chin scratchers, but you won't see them.

Last nights was good, Ride, and Andy Bell giving insights and answering questions.

I like Andy Bell. Comes across as a good bloke. Love his new stuff under his Glok monitor.
total blast from the past also, he did a live acoustic performance of his Hurricane number 1 ‘classic’ step into my world on Instagram the other day. Used to love that tube when I was youthful !!

This week I’ve been enjoying Waxahatchee and Me and That Man (although it’s so far away from the last album Nergal has May as well have just called it a Neegal solo album with guest vocalists). Also had a bit of nostalgia with the new Suicide Machines album.

Highlight of my week though has been the debut album by a band called Rookie. I’m a week or 2 late as I think it came out on the 13th but I first heard it this week. Classic rock with southern rock and alt country influences.
