Whisky

Cycling has always been my main hobby...multiple bikes, all the expensive clobber and cycling trips abroad...but I’m spending more that I used to on malts...all relative compared to some on here mind ;)

Not bought a new bit of cycling kit for a month or so

You don’t have to spend fortunes to get a decent malt, but you can get 1 very fine whisky for the price of 2 mediocre NAS offerings.

Don’t buy many NAS...got a couple of Laphraoig QC but think that’s about it...do find some good Indy bottlings give good value.
Think im finding a nice sweet spot 35-50 ish.
For that you’re getting generally 10-12 year old, 46% and non chill filtered etc. ( Springbanks, Kilkerran etc)

Aye, I read the write up about it on another page, Pinot Noir casks from NZ. New Zealand wine is lush, proper NZ wine anyway. The stuff they export is the dregs. Blackberry/cherry with soot and smoke, sounds class tbh

not sure how many were produced but went live at 10.00 and by the time I checked they’d sold out.

be available on secondary market of course

I got a bottle. Hoping it’s better then the last few years - since Dark Cove they’ve been fairly mediocre. Really disliked Kelpie in particular.

I got the Supernova release last year, £140 and vowed not to go back as I thought it was overpriced. Saw the release yesterday and was surprised they kept it under 3 figures. Didn't go for it.

Hope it's good, look forward to hearing what you think about it.

Just got an Aldi Highland Select (blended) to try, looks like a Monkey Shoulder clone, and Auchentoshan was on for 20 quid in Asda and was one of my favourite ingle malts I've tried so far.

I got a bottle of Canadian dry aswell to try with the Aldi one. I know I had whisky and ginger years ago and enjoyed it (was my grandas tipple later in life) just to try and make my drinks last longer if anything else instead of just 10 minuites.
