I’m not sure what’s ‘comical’ about looking after your constituents in this unfortunate event of a company going out of business.

If you were playing Bristol Rovers on Saturday and EasyJet had hit the wall would you not want your fellow Sunderland fans to be looked after by their local MP if there was currently no compensation available?
Big Niall would take care of that.

so what about those 'poor lambs' who aren't her constituents?

That is the duty of their respective MP.

Yes, but that can't be taken for granted and incase you haven't noticed, our administration doesn't have the same affinity for the supporters that Niall Quinn did for Sunderland supporters.

I mean, you're going to obviously come back to the free season ticket giveaway but that was done out a perception to the outside as to how the club would look with swathes of empty seats and had the effect of sticking the boot in to the 'loyal' supporters who had already coughed up £600+ for a season ticket.

They would contact their MP if they had an issue. I'm struggling with this thread mind, what do people actually think MPs are there to do?

In my opinion there is only a problem with some posters because she's a Mag representing central Newcastle.

tbh, i couldn't give a flying fuck that MA gave away 10,000 free STs, beyond the fact it killed stone dead the Mag perception of 'free ticket mackems' forever.

So if only Chi chooses to do so why isn't your issue with the MPs that don't?

With a very quick google of football debates in Westminster, I've found that there have been discussions about safe standing, 4 debates about coventry, protection for clubs following the demise of Bury FC, the England team playing abroad, and these are all within the last 6 month.

Here's an excerpt from 2014

My Lords, I am very pleased to have the chance to open this debate on giving football fans a greater say in the running of their clubs. In doing so, I declare my interests because I have for a long time been a season ticket holder at Bolton Wanderers Football Club
.

Here's a debate about Dulwich Hamlet FC led by Dulwich MP Helen Hayes

Your point being? Safe standing is a football wide discussion, Coventry, Bolton and Bury are perfect examples of the debate around the 'fit and proper persons' test and the fallout from not being aggressive enough in applying it properly. You know, discussions above and beyond whether Wallsend Billy can get to Southampton or not. Or are you now saying MA doesn't pass the fit and proper persons test?

Christ man, take off your red and white specs. Absolutely blinded by your hatred for all things black and white.

A grown man acting like that

My point being Chi Onwurah is not the only MP to raise football related issues in parliament despite you saying she was.

When she mentions the collapse of Flybe, she asks about the wider issue of contingency plans that will be put in place for people losing out on flights and potentially facing extra high prices for alternatives. She then mentions some Newcastle fans(her constituents) heading to Southampton.

If she wasn't mentioning Newcastle you probably wouldn't have even heard about it, or even been bothered.

have a word with yourself.ffs
I9 think I ought to point out that I think it's equally wrong to choose a candidate because he's a white man .If you think about it labour has lost many seats because they chose utterly barmy candidates . Colour, creed and gender should never be a consideration . I'm sure only the knuckle draggers would disagree with that .

Was she picked because she's a black woman? Got a link?

All makes sense now.

If I was an MP I’d have more worrying things on my mind than a few scruffy bastards who’ve lost a few quid on a flight.

Good to see the Craig David Mags trying to justify the daft cow.... and the odd ‘Sunderland fan’ too, embarrassing.

Let's face it, she wasn't chosen for political nous . Did you vote for her ?
