Strong beers/ales/porters

When we go day drinking in Newcastle we usually start off with a few heavy ones from Newcastle Tap and HOS.

I can’t stand pilsners and most IPAs so stick to places I can get stouts, porters, sours and fruit beers. Can’t find raspberry Bacchus anywhere mind.

I thought you only drank bottles of Despies because you don't like beer and you can't drink pints because you get really drunk.

Last year. Thought it was common knowledge?

He's quite a brand on here so decided to monetise it.
Seems a really odd set up that. I wonder how the conversation goes for you and a mate to agree to share an account on here. It's not exactly hard to just have one each

I must say I’m always disappointed now if I go in a pub and they only have beer around the 4% mark. Nearly as bad as those who don’t do cask at all. My mates who drink John smiths or fosters all night can’t understand what I’m moaning about.

Not even sure how that could happen to you considering you have the exact same nights out every week. You should know where serves what by now.

I was in there on Saturday. It's fine, but I was paying £6.20 for a 3.5% beer. It was very nice, but that's taking the piss.

You're the mug choosing to pay that!

Agree though it's expensive but if you just want a few half pints of something around the 7% mark it's a nice place. When even their average lager, that Rick's Pils, is 6 quid a pint, its not somewhere you want to hang around on a session.

Guess they're trying to price out the dickheads who drink in the area, and lord are there many.

I tend to pick the drink I want, aye. They were all quite pricey. I was with a group of people all of whom were drinking wine. Not sure why I had to meet them there, but it was okay inside. Thankfully we went up to the Lord Nelson shortly after.

Try the Bacchus (seriously). Probably has the widest range of Belgian beers in Newcastle
