Joy to behold isn’t it, Rochdale never, ever looked comfortable last night. Parky is spot on adopting this tactic, I know it’s his natural style anyway but we all know that we’re an impatient bunch. This “up and at em” style suits us perfectly, the players don’t get nervous trying implement tactics that the fans end up grumbling over when things get overly ponderous, as they often did with Ross.

Massive respeck to PP for being bloody minded and ballsy enough to stick to his principles and turn things around. Dec 26th feels like a hell of a long time ago already.

Wasn't thus what Ross said he was trying to dee obviously failed

It’s what he did first few months from what I can remember? Also played five at the back.
Clearly didn’t have the fitness or tactics to pull it off though so changed formation and never ever had a settled team (through his own choice).

Can't recall Ross teams wining by 5 4 or even 3 goals let alone keeping clean sheets

They didn't help themselves by inviting it on every time their keeper got the ball. I'm all for playing it out from the back, but they had no direction and their players looked uncomfortable attempting to do it. They looked so poor.
 
I didn't think we particularly played a big high press, it was just that Rochdale opted to over fanny about at the back, encouraging us to push on to them.

Fair play they tried to play football. They just weren’t very good at it

Agree with this. Parky is doing a good job,it's obvious from the confidence the players are showing. Let's hope we can keep it going and build on it. Almost every aspect of our play has improved, the settled team helps and Wright looks a great signing.
Some of the criticism PP was getting on here for his team selection before the match last night was unbelievable, I was ashamed to read some of it...f***ing idiots.
 
For the majority of the first half they were being forced to play at a tempo they were uncomfortable with due to the pressing, inevitbly it forced errors and we capitalised.
