He's right about the dates but aye good point, the Championship playoff final is the Monday. L2 the week before.

Seriously though.... how would the police handle this?
Is there a London derby that comes close to this?
(I can't believe i put the word "seriously" into a thread about Newcastle getting to a cup final)

Is on Saturday, 23rd May.

And if Sunderland reach the League one Play Off Final it's the next day!
Happened when we played Charlton in the 4-4 game. They were there and lost the week before. Tbf they had a good team then with Shearer up top. No chance they'll get to a final with this current crop. Although they've carried lots of luck already this season, it'll only take them so far. They'll probably lose the replay at Oxford

From Louise Taylor's Guardian piece..

Although due diligence has been completed and advanced talks have been taking place for four months that remains a significant if. Particularly as Ashley has said that the leak of details of any proposed takeover before contracts are exchanged would make it unlikely to happen. In general, major football buyouts – most notably Abu Dhabi’s of Manchester City – are conducted in blanket secrecy.

Tellingly Ashley is said to be unimpressed by this latest leak, which all involved parties acknowledge has placed the transaction in jeopardy. The retail tycoon described a previous attempted by Staveley two years ago to buy Newcastle as a time-wasting exercise.

If her information is correct, then there is a big pointer to it not happening. I'm not convinced that Mike Ashley even wants to sell, and if what Taylor has written is correct, then there's his chance to scupper it.

I don't think it's a case of not wanting to sell, but more a case of getting what's best for him. Everything has a price in Ashleys world. Although the football club is a bit of a lame duck to him, he won't lose out. I'd be more sceptical about Staveley's involvement than Ashleys willingness to sell though.
