I don't think it helped picking him to play on the left ahead of Hume. If he was prepared to run his balls off, as he demonstrated he can be last season, and stopped trying to do everything himself he could still be very useful for an hour or so on the right ahead of O'Nien but don't think that is very likely.

Despite his greediness he was very effective for most of last season and we shouldn't forget that contribution but there's no doubt we are functioning as a team much more effectively without him.

If there are, they'll be trying to get a decent financial deal. It makes sense from their perspective to leave it late as we'll be more desperate to get rid.

It's worth holding out a couple of weeks to get the best deal.
