Loans loans and more loans

Yes, quite. We had two years to get the youngsters ship shape, because if we don't go up then a lot of them might be catapulted into the first team.

Donald's strategy however, has always been shit or bust: we get up in two seasons. Why? Because that's how he lines his pocket.
do we actually have any young lads who are good enough to play in this league at the moment that's the question you have to ask yourself

Its a worry the amount that are out of contract end of the season, we may need nearly a whole new squad

Likes of robson, if we are loaning him out give him a new deal first or he chance to do well again and sign somewhere else end of the season

as ive always hoped that one day our academy would be able to turn out young lads to improve the team i surely hope so

Boro did it. They appeared to prioritise their Academy after relegation.
I just think it shows Donald had no intention of sticking around long-term. There's no way he can fund the signing of a whole new squad, in any division.

I appreciate loans can occasionally help.
but I'd rather be a club who didn't rely on loans than one who does. It's a bad habit imo and one I presumed we'd break after Ellis went

I don’t get why people are against this. SD said we would be doing this and in league 1 it’s common for 1 or 2 year contracts and player turnover is often higher. We don’t need to spend spend spenD to get out of this league. And I’d argue it’s a bigger risk to spend hoping that the player will adapt or be able to play championship standard if we get out the league. Therefore the loan system can be gratefully beneficial as long as it is not stemming progression for our young academy players.

For anyone believing his spiel about the timing of the fanzines' statement (which wasn't great tbf) what was his excuse for not spending in the summer, whilst actively trying to sell the club?

This. Most of the squad is out of contract I believe.
Which may suit us if we get promoted.
