*&*^ Fleetwood vs SAFC ^*&*

Parkinson does seem to have found a formula that's kind of working. We've dominated large segments of play each of the last three matches, and for all the initial whinging about the system being too defensive, it really isn't given Hume and O'Nein are pushed so far forward. Just not getting enough out of it - should be testing the keeper more than what we are. Getting a decent finisher in might help that, but given the system, he has to be able to do some of the holdup play Wyke has done.

Still far more optimistic about the chances of making a push up the table than I was two or three weeks ago, although there's still the nagging sense the decent play could fall off the table suddenly. Seen that too often before.

Do you seriously think he has even considered replacing Wyke once? He's garbage but Parky doesn't think so, he's exactly the sort of drab carthorse he likes.

His record is poor but our two last performances have been amongst the best of the season. We are starting to look fitter and more mobile and I expect us to do well from this point onwards.
I need to see a lot more than 2 performances to have any belief in PP. His record is poor? It’s embarrassing.

I’ve been a huge vocal critic lately with my Donald and Parkinson out running theme, however these last 2 performances have been a huge improvement. I can’t go on and slate the team today as they have put a shift in.

The truth is we should be beating Fleetwood easily home and away
It shows how far our expectations have fallen when fans are being conditioned to accept that an away draw at Fleetwood is an acceptable result
In my book it isn’t it’s just a measure of our “shitness”
It's not an 'acceptable' result but the performance was better than most recent ones. We looked capable of winning.

The two main points of concern today were the finishing/shooting and, as usual, the lack of speed on the break. But much of the build up play was good and we deserved the point.

I think, too, that the shape of the team has been better over the last four games.

Agree that 3/17 is very very poor. I’m not saying you’re one of them but there’s a generation of Sky boys on here who need to get their heads around the fact that we’re in the third division because we deserve to be.
There were small signs of improvement against Bolton, not much admittedly. Since then we’ve totally commanded two successive away games. I can’t remember doing that for a long time. Getting rid of the manager now given a noticeable improvement and the window open would be total total f***ing madness, even by SAFC standards.

The Bolton (who are the whipping boys) game was awful. I don't know what you saw there that you liked. We beat Donny who I expected to be a much tougher test and then today we had a load of chances against a poor team and couldn't score until we got a dubious pen and escaped with a draw.

It only looks like an improvement because we were so dismal before and the bar had been set so low.

Keeping him any longer than he's already been here is a mistake. A few decent performances and a win once in a blue moon won't change that.

If we could just win our next 2 games (home games vs Lincoln & Wycombe) , we'll be in the hunt for automatic promotion. It's crazy after the horrid run we've had.

In the historical context of course we should. But you will have seen enough of us for the past 18 months to know that we aren't simply going to suddenly become a good side. There are definitely positive signs though, players look fitter, more organised, creating good chances, dominating big parts of games. Team spirit looks great since Mcgeady has been binned. Hard luck today I think mate, damn shame as back to back away wins would have done confidence the world of good.

As for Fleetwood, only Ipswich have won there this season. Nobody wants to accept this is our level but the sooner we do the better.

Wyke serves a purpose to what PP wants, I don't have a problem with that, especially given that once Wyke wins the first ball out, we're actually trying to build on it. But if somehow we could find someone who would do that and actually finish occasionally, it would be a major boost. I don't have a great deal of confidence in that happening.

I agree and I’m a huge critic, however a critic that would prefer to be proven wrong.

Get used to it, we shouldn't dare dream of better.

One win followed by a draw where we miss a load of sitters and the happy clappers are out in force at if they've been proven correct.
Sorry mate but I'm the last bloke you'd call a happy flapper. What I will not ignore is the fact we've shown improvement in the last 2 games and we now have a shape and better balance which is what we rarely had under Ross. If the players can just be a little more confident and crisp with their passing and obviously more clinical with their finishing then results should improve.
