I agree. I'm sure they feel better for issuing the statement.

Equally if they think pressuring Donald into resurrecting the Mark Campbell deal is the way forward they are being even bigger fools.
Need the yanks permission for that so its a non starter unles campbell has the money to payoff the loan!

Ex player Steven Elliott tweeted:

“For the sake of the football club, surely the current owner has to listen to supporters. “These fans don’t ask for the world but they deserve so much more than what is happening at the moment! “His plan hasn’t worked so why not move club on and save some personal credibility?”

The problem I have with the joint statement is it's only a few months ago the same lads were queuing up to lick Donald's hoop. Now they want him out him to sell up asap.

Whatever your opinion on Donald he's never made out he's had bags of cash to throw at the situation.

Unless these outlets have information there is a credible buyer waiting in the wings the statement is irresponsible and reckless in the extreme.

It might not be a popular opinion but there are far worse potential owners out there than Donald. If he was to sell up in a hurry it could well do a lot more damage.
He said he could get us top 10 in the PL without investment from outside. But would need it to challenge top 6.

All these problems haven’t just happened this season, it was there for all to see last season. Last season just papered over the cracks and in my opinion we over achieved last season.
The club has had major problems for about 10yrs

Some fans singing the owner's praises for the first 12 months as i recall.....
To be fair the bloke had an answer for everything so it was hard to really criticise him without getting things quoted back.

Now everyone has seen his actual plan for SAFC, the way he’s handled himself under scrutiny and you start to see the consequences from the decisions he made. He is also accountable for his words, when he came in he said that we wanted promotion in our first year but if it didn’t happen it wouldn’t be disastrous as long as we went up this year. He said we were in the healthiest situation in England yet we weakened the squad and appointed the cheapest managerial option.

There was a chap on here, whose username unfortunately I cannot recall who tried to organise a boycott/protest against Short and he was ripped apart by nearly every member of this board. Curious to know what's changed to drive this response. I know the obvious answer is your league position but perhaps if you listened to that fella and acted sooner you could have avoided this shitstorm. Seems a bit like too little too late.

You may well be right but what alternative do we have? sit and accept 15th place in League one or on recent viewing potentially worse?

It’s the lack of honesty that is my biggest issue apart from the shite players, manager etc. I currently feel like everything he says is half truths and manipulated to appease the fans, if they are that financially stable why accept a loan from the Americans for 10 million? why sell any youth player with any modicum of talent to the highest bidder which is happening as we speak when we are apparently trying to build and sustain a model which nurtures and promotes youth into our 1st team?

As it currently stands something has to give, the club can’t go on like this. We are not asking for multi-billion pounds investment here! we want honesty and a clear plan/direction for which our club is being taken because at the minute it certainly doesn’t look like we have one.

He's a complete narcissist who used Twitter to make himself popular, he will 100% be aware of the message and the amount of fans who are fully supportive of it. Picked up a fair bit of traction with the national press as well.
So what you need a buyer first. He needs to change the manager before he even thinks about selling if anyone wants to buy it

He's not talking about last season, he's talking about this season.
Lost influential players (and still paying wages on them).
Replaced with worse free transfers.
Sacked a failing manager.
Replaced him with a man who fire fights on the cheap and his few successful teams have been where he had time and no expectations (except one season at Bolton).
15th in the third division.
Two wins in 14 matches.
Very little chance of promotion.

He's talking about this season and the responsibility for all of this lies with the owner and his decision making.
Influential players like who, honeyman cattermole most on here have done nowt but whinge about them for years. Yes we are having a bad spell and he needs to change manager.
I was, it was plain as day you could see our team wasn't very good. I stated that no-one will give a shit about how he's being nice to certain fans if the football doesn't improve. I said if we were shit then fans will turn en masse as it's the only thing that anyone actually gives a shit about.
Last season we struggled against just about every team we played, creating very little week in, week out. Plenty of fans argued this, some closed their eyes and stuck their head in the sand as ignored it as well. Lots were worried about how the academy was being run, lots worried by the transfers being made. It wasn't as if the signs weren't there that we were turning even shitter than we already were.
Some claimed Donald 'saved the club' which was always a load of bollocks, we had other buyers who wanted in, he did fuck all to get rid of the debt. That was ALL Short who knew the debt we had was all down to his ineptitude so he rid us of it.
All Donald has done is strip the club down as much as possible and we are seeing the results of it all now. The football is diabolically shite throughout the whole of the club at every single level
We didn’t struggle at all last season against nearly every team we played !!! News flash we are a league 1 team we aren’t just going to steam roller every team in the league

I can understand the #Donaldout stuff but even if he decided to go tomorrow it wouldn’t effect the dire playing situation we have at the moment.
Parkinson needs to go first but even the timing of that is problematic with the transfer window opening next week.
Would we even be able to get a new manager in in time for the transfer window and how would we get his players in before it closed?
Thats the situation we are in at the moment and I’m not sure what the best way out of it is short term.

I thought he'd done wonders financially?
Last season he spent adequately for a team in league one.
At the end of the season you'd think JR would have told him what we needed, it was in hindsight a disastrous window.

We've not had one since. At the beginning of the season, bookies, fans and the owners thought we had enough to win the league. We now know this isnt the case.
We're not letting anyone resolve the situation by demanding this before the window opens.
And as said, who would join us now?

Is there any proof for that beyond Donald and his lacky? Sounds like costs have been cut left, right and centre through every area of the club and the well is now pretty much dry.

News flash. You’re an idiot.

Performances were really poor more often than not last season. We were bailed out by moments of individual quality from one of Maja, McGeady and McLaughlin time and time again and the longer Ross was here the worse we got.

Wrong.

O'Neill and Poyet were never hounded out.

Bruce had two very bad spells, the first we went 14 games without a win, the second I believe we won only 2 games in 13 at the start of the season, we would have likely gone down with Bruce. What didn't help was him regularly blaming fans, suggesting our expectations were too high, which was simply not true.

Di Canio went because there was a players revolt, again, he was not hounded out.

Our fans have actually been very patient all things considered. Try again.

Poyet was turned on like! I remember Villa ripping us apart up here and people were trying to get into the dugout at him! I think we were 4-0 down after 35 minutes or something?

I don’t think the statement really matters that much. It’s the sentiment that counts.

The RAWA involvement concerns me a bit, I’m not sure where they have got the mandate from? They have a meeting on 16th Jan to discuss which seems a bit pointless now.

Must admit that's a fair point mind. RAWA are a group you can join, it's not like an independent fanzine. Bit surprised there was no canvassing of members prior to getting behind the hashtag. I mean, I'm a member and I've got no issue with it, I'm sure most wouldn't have any issue with it, but it does seem a bit unrepresentative to just speak on behalf of all members on something this important without any form of poll/ correspondence. Not sure what the point of the meeting is now, but presumably it's to discuss the next steps. Not a major issue, it's just surprising

You're deflecting again.

All of the poor decision making is coming home to roost:
Mates employed in positions of huge responsibility.
No scouts at the club meaning we're placing huge faith on agents to bring us the players we need.
Ambiguous statements regarding the financing of the takeover.
Terrible player recruitment overall.
An absolute failure to buy players with attributes that we obviously lacked last Xmas window.
Gambling "chips in" like a drunken punter at the poker table on Grigg.
Signing yet another old, slow, experienced central midfielder because he was a SAFC fan.
Offering children from our Academy teams to other clubs for compensation payments.
Yes - allowing Cattermole and others to leave and bringing in worse footballers who diminished the team on free transfers.
Not sacking Ross at the end of last season.
After he kept him on - not backing Ross in the summer.
Sacking Ross without a replacement lined up.
Signing PP as manager even though he's never, ever been known to have an immediate and positive effect on a team.

And your response is "Yes we are having a bad spell and he needs to change manager."?

You really think this is purely down a "bad spell" by the manager and SD shares no responsibility for the list I put up just off the top of my head?

Spot on. Ego driven maybe?
