Great start for uncle Steve

Rafa who???
Did you watch that? It was a bloody robbery. Sat way way too deep all game, lumping high balls nowhere near our static caravan with a man bun. I look forward to Bruce getting slated for parking the bus against Sheffield Utd, like Benitez did against Manchester City.

Defended ok, in numbers. But honestly, that was a joke and if Dubravka didn't have a worldy, and the Sheffield players hadn't switched off surely we would have lost that game comfortably?

I certainly did. Looked no different to a standard Benitez away performance. Sit back soak up the pressure and play on the counter attack. That’s the way you’re set up to play this season and as long as your defence stays rock solid and you have pace on the counter attack then you’re going to continue picking up points like last night.

A win against Southampton on Sunday and you could be in a European position if results go your way. Never looked close to that under rafa did you?

Agree about dubravka, he was outstanding and on another day you may have drew or even lost that match. He’s in the top 6 keepers in the league for me. Makes a few mistakes but most do. Hel win yous about 10 points a season at least if last night is anything to go by

Would this narrative continue if they were in the top 4?

Surreal this.

Agree with a lot of this post, but the bit about a European position under Benitez is not correct.
Reached as high as 4th place in 17/18 then dropped a bit then went back up to 6th, before dropping and staying mid table.

It was different to a Benitez performance to me. Benitez' team wasn't so quick to lump it upfield and would play it about a bit before hand. Also while Rondon was a targetman he was way more mobile than Carroll. Also Perez provided support to Rondon, where ASM and Almiron are way too deep to help Carroll.

Bruce deserves credit for the result, but it was a robbery and we relied on some some poor finishing from Sheff Utd and some outstanding saves from Dubravka.

re: European spots, we weren't far off in our first season back in the top flight.

Very true but some Newcastle fans will hear none of it, St Rafa was forgiven, getting on my tits the way some knackers want us beat just to say Rafa is being missed, it’s killing some of them man.

Some posters on here seem happy that Newcastle are winning because Bruce is doing well and generally the Newcastle fans wanted to keep Benitez and weren't so keen on having Bruce.

Have stopped taking the p”ss!! We have fell so far that they actually embarrassed for us. That’s how far we have fallen. Whilst I appreciate we should expect more from the players they are instructed how to play and coached in the ways of the manager.
Look at today- hoofball up to a player who is lucky if he can jump an inch and is not renowned for winning headers who is also totally devoid of confidence- took until 75 minutes to get first corner - a five man defence against a team lower in the league - blaming the officials for not getting a draw.
So who are to blame? Parkinson for his ineptitude and Donald for appointing the inept fucker that who to blame. What we need is for Donald to grow a pair admit he got it wrong and get rid of Parkinson.
What I don’t need is sympathy from Mags!!
