Nah when people realise Everton tend to finish 7/8th most seasons Allardyce did a basic job - we went most games even against the bottom few mustering 1 shot on goal it was horrendous stuff.

We were never in real danger of going down (and by real I mean like Watford 7 points adrift not 1 point with 25+ games to go) and he had the chance to stake a claim for the job and be more expansive but he never which is why he never stayed on.

His football is good to get you safe but the owner wanted more - if he's putting in massive money who's to blame him?
Who do you realistically think you could get to replace Silva?

Who do you realistically think you could get to replace Silva?

Honestly haven't a clue mate.

Who I want?

Kovac
Benitez
Biesla

In that order

Who I think the board will go for?

Moyes
Benitez
Arteta
Jorge Jesus
Gallardo
Marcelino

All recently linked.

Depends who picks him - we have the owner (Moshiri) chairman (Kenwright) and DOF (Brands) and I couldn't tell you who will have the biggest say so dont know.

So you complain about style of football but you would have rafa

The irony of him saying you can’t slag off Allardyce on here when he’s so far up Benitez’s hoop you can see his face poking out of his mouth.

I only ever defend Benitez from over-the-top criticism. Like he's a fraud, he's shit, he's worse than Bruce, etc. It's you lot that won't hear a bad word said about a bloke whose sole achievement is the same as Di Canio, Poyet, etc. (who a lot of you dig out).

Have a go at Benitez' pragmatic style, his manipulation of the press, his sometimes suspect transfer record, but saying one of the most trophied managers around is shit, is f***ing risible.

If you kept Allardyce & gave him as much money as you gave Silva roughly where do you think you'd be in the league right now? Still in the relegation zone?

This is key. This is why he wasn't loved at West Ham, Everton or Newcastle. All had realistic aspirations beyond mere survival. It's been over a decade since he's managed a European campaign, hasn't it?

Sam pissed £50 million on Tosun & Walcott who are garbage.

Its a mute point - its basically Paddy Power level banter "Sam must be pissing himself" yes because we appointed a shite manager.

Had we appointed any other manager instead of Silva we would probably be around 7/8/9th and no one would say anything.

Because we are still seen as a "bigish" club the media love whipping up a shitstorm like now - yes in the bottom 3 but about 2 wins from the top half.

We need to get the next appointment right however.

He finished 8th with evertom hardly just aspiring to stay up

The football he was playing at Everton was must-not-lose shit. Like the Everton fan says, there were games when Everton only mustered a solitary shot on target.
From Wikipedia "Whilst under Allardyce's management, Everton were ranked 20th for total shots, 19th for total shots on target, 16th for passing accuracy and 17th for shots faced in the Premier League."

They ended up on 49pts (usually would get you about 10th), with a goal difference of -14!

Fat Sam wasted about £50m on Walcott and Tosun in 1 window
He tends to sign players that fit in to a system for him & do a job for him but other managers struggle to get the best out of them

So do you think you'd be comfortably in the top half if you kept Allardyce & gave him same money you gave Silva then?

No as Alladyce isnt anywhere near as good as you lads think he is.

We would probably be not in the bottom 3 as he isnt as shit as Silva - but could easily be mustering 1 shot on target sat in 13th/14th doing sod all.

When you've spent half a billion quid in 3 seasons to try break the top 6 its not crazy to want better than f***ing Silva/Allardyce is it?
