Forthcoming gigs.


Ventured north to see Hugh Cornwall last neet. Very good. Three piece band doing two sets. One 60 mins of his solo career (40 yrs since his first solo album apparently!) which was surprisingly enjoyable as I’d nivver heard any of his solo stuff. Then a short break followed by the same band doing 45 mins of Stranglers classics.
He was far chattier during the solo stuff which leads me to believe he’s doing the Stranglers stuff just to shift tickets. No intros just him telling the drummer which song and the drummer shouting it out the number to the sound man. Which suggests to me they’ve rehearsed a lot more than they intend playing. Always the sun, skin deep, thrown away, no more heroes, nice n sleazy, tank, straighten out, nuclear device and a few more.
Recommended.

Thought the Fat White Family were class at the Boiler Shop.

Loved the interlude bit aswell, when it was just Saul doing ‘Goodbye Goebbels’ and ‘The Drones.’
