Vaux site......

Typical morons of Sunderland commenting on this;

And what about the towns and villages around Sunderland city centre likes Washington town End Farm Southwick downhill need I go on be nice for an answer

Can the bridges please get an update then. They haven’t been properly updated since 1989 and every time it’s raining heavily or windy. Windows tend to cave in or it floods. Just one disaster waiting to happen!!
Every other shopping centre in the region has had an update. Why are we left behind? we have so much potential

Why can't people just take positive news?

Now waiting to hear what the absolute balloon knots at Sunderland for Transparency have to say. This news will be killing them inside. No doubt they will find some way to make up a claim of corruption as usual.

The things is the council doesn’t own the bridges, it’s ran by a private equity company I believe. This is the problem of people not understanding who does what in the city.

See it all the time. Like the morons moaning about the council giving away land at Seaburn to Miller homes. Erm, it's not council land.

Wonderful news. The comments on the Chronicle article are predictably minging.
There's some on the echo Facebook too, wanting the 'corrupt Labour council' ousted. With real developments happening all over the city, not artist impressions and scale models like we used to get, at what point can we start congratulating Sunderland council on a job well done?

If they continue this momentum, the city will be unrecognisable in 20 years time.

Taken some time, but great to see positive news coming from the site over recent months, tenants in the beam, new build starting for council offices and now this.

The start of something positive for this city after years of shite.
Double the residents living in the city centre! Perfect! And another 6000 jobs.
Great news. At 1min 15 seconds, Patrick Melia says Ocado is the world's largest online retailer, with £1.6m turnover? Did I hear that right? Even if it was $1.6bn, it's still not close. Not that it matters.
