Well I'm listening now on catch-up and have to disagree. He's pretty un-media polished I have to say, he umma and ahhs and errs (and has an unfortunate vocal resemblance to David Brent), but the substance of what he says sounds fine. Bullshitters tend to be more polished and convincing imho.He really didn't.
Came across as a liar and bullshitter.
He may not be, but that's what he sounded like
Madrox/safc I understood it asOwed 20 million by who? He owns the f***ing thing.

I read the loan very much as a test of his ability to run a football club, the Americans aren't yet convinced he's the man for the job, up to him to prove them wrong.
Totally agree mate but we have had to persist with Griggs and Wyke because that's all we have. Kimpola is not the answer.Same. I still like Donald, but we need action, we need results. It's what happens on the pitch that matters and they left us alarmingly short in the summer, that's what's most disapponting.
It was clear Grigg and Wyke were not good enough yet we've persisted with them. The football's awful, slow, boring and turgid.
I'd imagine Methven is livid right now.
But he’s saying there’s no debt, so he can’t have loaned us the money?Madrox/safc I understood it as
In that case he hasn’t put any money in, he hasn’t “bought” the club with his own money as he claims - he has borrowed money from the club to buy the club - based on what you’re saying. That will be what he invested he will want a return on all the money hes put in
Exactly. But he’s saying there’s no debt, so he can’t have loaned us the money?
Where can I listen to the catch-up Deano?
The question is who to buy in January, at the time people thought grigg would be great, it seems when it comes to sunderland everybody is a gambleTotally agree mate but we have had to persist with Griggs and Wyke because that's all we have. Kimpola is not the answer.
Playing good cop and bad cop?
He admitted there actually was a takeover on the table like many fans had insisted was the case, after we were told we were wrong and that there was only ever going to be an investment.
That’s a pretty serious lie to be caught in.
All he had to do was say so mate, I doubt anyone would have anything to say if he said he’s had to spend time with his family, if they did they would be rightfully put right by the majority. Instead we’ve had salmon pants say it was because of fan abuse leading to infighting between fans and our reputation tarnished in the media etc when all that didn’t need to happen. He gets credit from me for putting himself forward for the interview.
I don’t buy this running away stuff some accuse him of. He’s obviously been working massively long weeks while the takeover was being discussed at a time when his family circumstances should have dictated his attention was elsewhere.
Yes there will be some that say he knew the size of the club etc and sacrifices need to be made but even though SAFC is a massive part of my life and has been for over 50 years I’d draw the line if my direct family’s health was such that my attention was required at home.
Yes it’s undoubtedly true that he’s made mistakes (staying on Twitter was in my view always destined to end in tears) but I also believe most of them were made with the best of intentions.
It’s very easy to become cynical and always doubt someone’s integrity but my view of SD is that he’s trying the best he can to bring success to the club. It hasn’t always worked out but we don’t live in a perfect world.
I’ll continue to support him and wish him every success at Sunderland.
I believe he was talking long term when it comes to selling the club. Madrox owns the club so he put the money into madrox . Look at ashley, he values the club at 350 million so he can get back what he paidIn that case he hasn’t put any money in, he hasn’t “bought” the club with his own money as he claims - he has borrowed money from the club to buy the club - based on what you’re saying.
Exactly.
It was rammed down your throat if you said "takeover" as it was always an investment. This is another lie they have been caught out with.He admitted there actually was a takeover on the table like many fans had insisted was the case, after we were told we were wrong and that there was only ever going to be an investment.
That’s a pretty serious lie to be caught in.
To be fair the easier thing to do would be to not give the interview surely?
