He really didn't.

Came across as a liar and bullshitter.

He may not be, but that's what he sounded like

I have to say thats my take on it too, its still not clear on the finances when he bought the club, he said he's put 20 million in, has he?

Said between him and Juan they have enough to cover the loan, why get the loan, if you have plenty money in the bank you dont go and get a loan thats not needed!

If FPP wanted to invest, not a loan, invest, why didnt they, why's it been done as a loan?

My feeling is that Donald and Co wanted more for their shares, based on what they can do in the future, Donald has said I can do xy and z with 10 million, FPP pump the money in with zero risk as is secured against assets, and said ha'way then Stewy you make it work with that and we will agree to paying you what you want.

He'd have gone on, told everyone to fuck off and vote for Boris. Then sold Robin a dodgy Fiesta.

was on about this mate

Tom Cowie. Sunderland chairman. 16th March 1983.

" I wish we had Newcastle's fans.

I believe Newcastle supporters are more loyal than Sunderland's

I would like to swap fans"

But are the shares of Sunderland AFC not the club it’s self (stadium & academy)

And everything else. The point is that the simple thing to do is for them to acquire the club, should the wish, or sell the shares of the club with it as a going concern. That gets the highest possibility of a return. Charge documents, by the nature, have to be all-encompassing. In any event, all this is hypothetical; if the loan conditions are met, the security is never needed. People are getting their knickers in a twist over something that is probably the least likely outcome.

Story seems to change about the parachute payments every time he’s asked and the condescending comments ‘it’s quite easy if people understand business’.

Relationship is pretty manky just now. He needs to stop his PR pal from doing anything with regards to PR.

Him and Methven need to get together and get their propaganda on the same wavelength.

We were told we were talking shite, there was never a takeover, it was always an investment. Some posters on here even sided with them on this.
Now SD goes on the radio and admits there actually was a takeover on the table but the offer was way below what they wanted.

They’ve been caught in a lie, and basically called the fans liars as well.

He spoke some sense tonight, but on the whole I think he’s blown it. A lot of fans aren’t going to trust him.

I don’t think he’s out to screw the club over, I think he has the best of intentions. He’s just out of his depth so far and needs to work on his PR.

Good post, sums it up for me as well. Would make it so much easier if as you say, SD and CM actually got their stories straight rather than continuously contradicting each other

So he says...
What else could it mean, if he really needed the money he would have gone out and got a bank loan secured against the club assets, instead he gets it from investors who want to own the club and if somehow it does go tits up they get the club and hes the one who loses out
