Why James McClean will never wear a poppy – and nobody else should be made to, either - The Independant

I think McClean is a moron but i totally respect him not wearing a poppy and not wanting to honour British soldiers- our government weren’t so amazing to Irish people and others- you need to respect the people and families who died but I do think the poppy has become weaponised recently. It’s a good thing but you shouldn’t be made to do it.
Derry is a crazy politicised place in lots of ways with unionists still locking down to keep the catholics out at night and that’s his town. I do think he should use his position of influence to build bridges mind not reinforce it
He is not Irish

You are, absolutely just like this annual thread

So if France walked in and took over England and made you speak French and didn't allow you to vote etc how long would it take for you to call yourself French and wear an emblem celebrating the armies that killed your neighbours and stuff?

Welcome back Dobby. ‘Bob, you are my master, anything I can do for you Master Bob’.....
James McClean plays for the Republic of Ireland and therefore has every right to identify as Irish. Saying anything other than that and you’re getting into dangerous prejudice. You should know better as someone living overseas.

Born in Derry, United Kingdom, probably got a UK passport anarl.
As is well known he is an attention seeking fanny.Anyone can play for the ROI man, eat a tin of irish stew and you qualify.
I live overseas and have no doubt as to where I'm from and behave as one of our Queens subjects should do.

This is obviously all far too complicated for you. It was a conditional question.

Apart from you living overseas and McClean being born in Derry the rest of your post is nonsense.

Conditional, eh?
Yes it is a grammatical device in the English Language.

If you can understand and answer my question I sincerely look forward to that.

Otherwise perhaps you should just stick to shouting and being a bellend.

Are you saying then that dual heritage people lose the right to their dual heritage because of where they were born ? So an Indian born here with two Indian parents can’t identify as Indian ? That a Jamaican born here with two Jamaican parents can’t identify as Jamaican ? Do you have kids ? Were they born overseas ?
On the last point do all British subjects have to stick their nose up Bob’s arse? Maybe it’s a thing

Just has our service over here in Bahrain, watching the parades on tele now.
Lads and lasses from all over in the clerb neebody being a prick just respect.
Next week its Remembrance Ball all proceeds going where they should.

Cant answer as it makes no sense.

So does 'dual heritage' thats a new one by the way, give you the right to slag off the country of your birth?
Not sure what Bob has got to do with this like?
Everyone has an opinion, you obviously agree with the prick, I on the other hand dont.Actually you just dont like me or Bob whatever the post is about.
Anywhere we are all here in the Brit Clerb, poppied up, remembering, as that is what it is all about.Bore off please

I think your brown nosing of Bob is absolutely pathetic shameful behaviour for an adult if that’s not clear. I also think your comment on his Irishness borders on racism. I respect the men and the families who fought all day long. I have friends and family Involved as you are , we can be proud of our nations input to the Second World War but I’m not going to show any pride in much of the rest of our governments murderous history focused on power and empire and wealth and that gives people who were the victims of our foreign policy the right to a different political opinion. But as I’ve said there are people, families here and not here who have suffered and they deserve every level of respect.

So you don’t think being anti Irish is racist ? Don’t give a shite where you’re born tbh it gives no excuse for intolerance. James McClean is an Irish Derry born footballer - fact- and you can’t deny him that and it wasn’t because he ‘had a tin of Irish stew’. You’re clearly as thick as the Irish Stew. Enjoy your day out being respectful.

You forgot to mention Bob in your closing whimper?

Irish Stew is disappointingly thin I find but otherwise I agree 😃

You forgot to answer my question at all. Either because you admit you are wrong or too stupid so I don't think you should really take this tone aside from it being again completely off the mark.
