Why James McClean will never wear a poppy – and nobody else should be made to, either - The Independant

Every bloody year I post something similar to this ffs.

Nobody should feel like they have to wear one. Personal choice. End of story. In James McCleans case, fine James don’t wear one. No worries. Don’t however make some horseshit up about how it’s a political symbol you simply can’t wear on the strip of your English football team. Then, the following Easter post pictures of yourself sporting your Irish Republican Easter lily on your English team tracksuit. Or make a point of turning your back on the British national anthem when it’s played prior to a game you’re playing for your English club. All the while demanding people respect your rights and show courtesy. You dick.

I seen some twat on social media wearing rainbow coloured ones, how f***ing disrespectful can you get?
I know it takes the piss, like some of the above posters on here asking if I'm sure I was in the military and I'm a snowflake . Some offensive pricks on here, see my previous post on this thread.

I saw a woman giving a young shop assistant behind the counter all sorts of abuse last year as she was the only one of the staff not wearing it, there were some very choice phrases. The girl looked like she was almost in tears, looked down at her front, apologised and bent down to pick it up from where it had fallen on the floor and returned it to her lapel. I will wear a poppy this year as always, but sadly there is truth in that article, and an element of fascism (dictionary definition, not Fascism) has in recent years entered the poppy tradition. It's a great pity.
Jackonory.. Is less of a story.. Sorry that's bo licks
