Sure we did, but Perez and Ritchie (when played on the right wing, instead of LWB) don't have the pace that Almiron or Saint Maximin has.

Benitez had Almiron to utilise to be fair, so why not use him in the same way Bruce seemingly is? Saint Maximin does seem a good player mind, just not much end product. He has something that Almiron doesn’t have though and that’s the ability to beat a man without throwing himself to the ground every time.

Almiron has been used to carry the ball up the pitch. By both managers.
Bruce made the mistake of playing him as more of a forward, which isn't something he's done much of, if at all. Bruce deserves credit for identifying West Ham's high line and using the pace and dynamism of ASM and Almiron.
Almiron reminds me of Gutierrez. Not that they're identical in role or skillset, just that they both work hard, carry the ball up the pitch effectively, win set pieces up near the opposition box and maybe go to ground too easy.

What’s your actual thoughts on Almiron though? Stats don’t lie and not a single assist nor goal since he joined is poor form no matter what way you dress it up. Yeah your average points per game may have went up, but surely he himself should be contributing? He looks like someone with pace to me and that is it, not worth the money you paid at all and the fact he done it in the MLS is covering the fact he can’t hack it in a bigger league. Same as Alitidore in a sense.

I like him and think that when he gets the monkey off his back by putting one in off his arse he'll score a few. He's getting in the right areas, never hides from the ball and has been unlucky not to score on a couple of occassions. The misses will be weighing on his mind but he's a good player and regardless of his current profligacy I think he's a real positive for our squad.Aye, that’s definitely a given
If he was a striker who was launching shots into row Z I'd be more damning, but he contributes positively to the play enough for me. Similar to Joelinton, the striker's only got the one goal, but he looks a good player and if we can build on a good first 60 minutes agsint West Ham I think those three will each get a few goals. If they don't we can rely on the centre backs

Fair enough mate. Personal opinions, both himself and Joelinton don’t look too great, and whenever I’ve saw them they really haven’t performed. Suppose they’ve got a full season yet still but just going off so far. Joelinton and Almiron's contributions only really become apparent if you're watching the full game, ASM looks mint on Match of the Day highlights, but he missed 3 golden chances against West Ham himself.
You suggested he wasn’t contributing personally which is nonsense when you watch him and how hard he works through the course of a game. Yes he might have zeros in the easiest indicators to look at for the lazy but he works his arse off game after game.
On his home debut he went clean through after 5 minutes, lobbed the keeper and it bounced off the inside of the post. Looks like it was his sliding doors moment at the minute. He needs a goal but he’ll come good on that front too.

There seems to be potential in the three attackers improving together.
Don’t underestimate the fact they speak 3 different languages. Communication is crucial to forward partnerships.
I’m going off his personal stats and his performances that I’ve seen, which granted would only be the ones shown on Sky.
Working his arse off is great, but that should be a given with any footballer really. From a winger (or attacking midfielder don’t really know his position), you’d expect him to at least have one or two goals/assists so far. My biggest point is he’s come from the MLS which is a very bog standard league. His competition really isn’t up to scratch when it comes to what he’s playing against now. He’s had half a season and ten or so games. There’s still half a season left, but he just looks like he’s leaving a lot to be desired so far. Opinions and all that though mate.
Yet you think ASM looks good even though he missed three sitters at the weekend. Almiron would have been crucified if he'd missed those.

I think Joelinton is a shite centre forward. No surprise there though considering he never played as a centre forward. Baffling signing by the club. Would probably be better playing off a target man if they insist on using him centrally. He looks alright linking up play 50 yards from goal but doesn't get in the box often enough. On Saturday Almiron broke away and ran to the corner, it was either 3-0 or 3-1 at the time, and our next closest player was 30 yards from the box so no point putting a cross in, ball went back up the line and think it finished with our central defenders. Happens a lot with Joelinton.
Aye. Should have buried those mind, just think he has more about him to create chances through pure skill. Time will tell though, over 2/3’s of the season left yet.
