Is there one black comedian

OK, well now you're making me think this is a challenge to find you a black / American stand-up comedian you might like. :)

To be fair there are very few comedians that make me laugh out loud regularly - even some of my favourite comedians just make me smile through their set with maybe the occasional "HA!" - so this could be tricky. :D
Tricky isn't a comedian though.

What’s racist about it..whenever I see a black comedian on TV..usually on E4 or a panel/game show I don’t find them funny in the slightest..however the first reply to my post gave a couple of good choices..Murphy and Pryor were very good with their stand up all those years ago.
It's racist because you're suggesting theit skin tone somehow effects their ability to be funny .Doesn't make sense really does it ?

I'd imagine there are loads; however we never get to see them, the ones that get on telly are going to be the ones there to 'fill a quota' so to speak. They'll be expected to talk about their background and heritage at which point they'll be talking about being black in a white dominated world.

found that clip there very disgusting and offensive, not seen the rest of it
I'm from the "joke about anything " club but I lasted 20 minutes on that show
Just cringey ,don't go there stuff
Kids who should be happy Michael Jackson fiddled with them instead of their uncle

It's a tough one ,same in music ,a lot of performers try to speak to the black community first and formost .It's not exclusive but it's how lots of them develop

There's talk of Eddie Murphy going back to doing stand up soon, I hope to hell this true and he does some shows over here, out of every comedian still with us out there he's be top of my list to see live.
(With Steve Martin being up there as well, though I'm getting to see him next year in Glasgow!)

I heard a story that he was offered a lot of money (millions) to make a return to stand-up and he turned it down on the basis he didn't have anything to say.

Fair play if true rather than just go through the motions as a pale shadow of his previous act. He will already be a multi-millionaire to begin with anyway.

He's making a return, he's going on tour. $70m payout from Netflix iirc.
