Significant investment by FPP has been made

No totally clear on what u mean, but I’m guessing the 9 mil listed in companies house doesn’t necessarily signify the amount invested/loaned. Do we have any clarification on the exact amount yet??

Sorry been at work all day without internet so not had a full chance to read everything.

Completely unrelated.

So we now have more money to spend on allowing the same people to keep making the same mistakes?

I don't see how that's going to help. Coton, Hill and Co should have been looking for new jobs as a result of this investment, not sticking around to squander it.

What have they done to deserve more faith in them, apart from being mates with SD?

Months of speculation and disruption for things to basically stay the same. Waste of time.

I don't disagree it's not been good, but I also think it's quite clear they've had their hands tied behind their backs to a degree. Whether they're up to it is anyones guess, but having something that resembles a scouting system and knowledge in more areas instead of relying one or two individuals knowledge is obviously going to help.

I mean the Marcus Maddison thing about Hill not thinking he was value for money because of his contract (100% correct by the way) was a smokescreen as we never had more than a tenth of that money available during the summer anyway. The decisions to not pay Lyle Taylor a goal bonus (if true) seemed to be aimed at Donald and paying over the odds for Grigg was done by Donald's by his own admission.

We aren't. Do you think we are as professional as Leicester, Southampton and Norwich were when they were here? We have 1 scout!
How can you compare us to any club that was previously in league 1 when you have no idea how they were ran. When the new owners came in they had to massively reduce staff m costs. Now that is under control they are building things back up again
No the donald does not speak and the Methman spins a cockney yarn which we dont believe.
I don’t blame Donald for taking a step back, some of the abuse he was getting was ridiculous

Significant investment? It's pocket money to these guys.
They have gone from a takeover to putting some spare change into the club because they have doubts about the current set up and want to see some significant improvement before committing themselves to a purchase of shares which would give them overall control. They do see the massive potential of the club.
Donald has to get us promoted if he wants his pot of gold.
That has been the reason for the protracted delay imo
The next few months will be very interesting

It was always investment and it is significant at this level. Keep listening to Alan Nixon and the sun if you like, but literally nothing of what they said has come true.

Heard on the news we had received significant investment. For a second I’m thinking dell have put Billions then they say 10 mil. :D The mags spent 4 times that on joelinton and that’s what we’re calling significant investment.

It’s probably enough money to keep us ticking over to the end of the season and maybe bring in one or two players in January but haway it’s a drop in the ocean in football these days.

I honestly think if we don’t go up this season we might be the next bury, people will stop trying to save a dying club at some point there’s only so long this can go on for

I can’t see us going like bury now with these Americans involved, I don’t think they would allow that to happen.

If we don’t go up how long do they give it though? Everyone gets bored at some point, look at abramovich at Chelsea, Lerner at villa and short with us. Everyone enjoys the good times but when you start losing loads of money and don’t see any rewards it becomes tough.

Will they stick around if we don’t go up this season or next season? Time will tell

The fuck has Joelinton got to do with it? We are in League 1. That £10m is more than the rest of the clubs spent last season on players combined. Why would investors just throw in billions? They are shrewd businessmen. They will make initial investments to see how we progress and then make further investment when/if we go up. Still believe this is an initial investment with a view to a takeover once we are in a stronger position.

If it doesn’t work out I’d assume they may look at a takeover and want to employ there own people, it’s the same with Donald how long will he continue if he can’t get us up this season.

I am pleased the infrastructure should improve with the new investment. I hope they can prove to the Americans that they are capable. I've been critical of Hill and Coton and I'm sceptical they've got what it takes. Scandanavia, Germany and Ireland is where I'd focus the scouting, its a positive that they've highlighted Scandanavia as the players adapt well to England. I hope ifnwe get to the championship and identify a 3 million quid striker from Denmark who is a good age and ticks all the boxes, the money is there to buy them.

its showing you what a bang average strikers costs these days and how we are light years away from that

Wouldn’t trust Donald with £10 million of my money without having any say in the direct running of the club
Donald always talks big with other folks money but has no track record of success in the field of football

Scouting system?? how much does it cost to send ex pro footballers to watch games round the country? Which is what all clubs do. Isn't this really just money for cashflow?. I dont believe a word they say after thd mistruths of the takeover

When our turnover is circa £20 million and we're being given an additional £10 million that is what's known as a significant investment.
Most of the clubs in the leagues above us will not have this money to invest in the infrastructure. Most of their income will be being pissed away on mediocre players, mercenaries and agents. Build from the bottom and success will follow!

It’s not your money though. This is not a free gift. There will be expectations built into this “gift “ to deliver

I read your post as how stupid the mags are for paying that for mercenaries and you too for a pathetic attempt at a wind up.

Well actually we are within 2 years away from that if these billionaires decide further investment or a takeover is in their interests. Of course it won’t take 2 years but it won’t be light years either and I would hope we do it properly and don’t fall into the overpaying for average footballers trap again.

I hope that's how it's being worked tbh. I was desperate for FPP to get on board (as we all were) but I mentioned before that the value of the club probably hasn't massively increased since Donald and Methven came in. That seemed a shame, we couldn't really expect them to sell up for minimal/ no profit having seemingly done a good job on the commercial/ financial side and having worked their balls off without taking a wage! This way would address that, it gives them a chance to really succeed through the extra investment and gives them a well deserved chance to make very good money out of it. Donald talked about being here about 5 years, it could even tie in with that. It would probably suit all parties tbh, I'm sure FPP would happily pay more for SAFC in a higher league, with better infrastructure, effectively they're paying more for a vastly reduced risk. Just hope everyone gets behind it now and gives them a chance, the future looks positive again
Good post GG. We have some mega serious players behind us now. They may not be shareholders just yet, but with Methan saying certain parts of the investment will remain confidential, i'd pretty much guess that it will be written in their favour if Donald does not deliver. If he delivers or not, they will know their initial investment will be going on building the foundations for the club, which they would want if they took over in the future anyway. Not many if any Bar city would turn their noses up from been linked with these blokes. They have not spent months of talks and DD just to lend some money to make a few bob on the interest. Anyone who thinks they have are deluded. If it was a smaller group than maybe, but certainly not these lads. The future is bright, and i'm content drinking a drop of red wine tonight knowing the ball is rolling
