Significant investment by FPP has been made

Is it OK if I have reservations about the blokes tasked with using this investment wisely?
Based on what we seen since July 2018, anyone who doesn’t have reservations about them needs their bumps felt.

This is undoubtedly good news but aptly demonstrates Donald’s failure to date at Safc. When he arrived he said he didn’t need additional funds till the top end of the championship. Fast forward to now and we need a cash injection to take infrastructure above skeleton levels - and we’re further away from the championship than ever before in our history. If Donald wants to maximise this opportunity he needs to improve his performance massively - or replace himself with someone sufficiently competent.

Again it says believed to be AROUND 8 figures doesn’t mean it’s actually 8 tho it could be around that which again leaves it open. Problems is the people making decisions haven’t done well with decisions so far, I’m glad they are involved noe but wish it was a takeover but i guess this will do and hopefully in time we will see.

Good point mate.

I for one will slash my wrists and chant "sack the board" at the next match if it turns out those f***ing charlatans Only brought in nine million to improve a third division club.

Sarcasm aside - can we not actually concentrate on the business people, money and planned spending in our club being brought in to SAFC?

Rather than screaming "but the podcast!"?
For one night at least?

A roker report podcast on Sunday would be good Stewart.
Personally i would love it, but sadly i think these are done with. Too many have used it to hold it against them after. Methan said the finer details will stay confidential, so no way will they put themselves at risk of causing any hassle. I can't blame them tbh.
I'm just over the moon we have something official. I also realise now some on here won't be happy whatever, so let them get on with it

Before i get excited I’ll wait for confirmation of the investment with proof kf figures, everyone is jumping to the conclusion it’s 8 figures, it says “but are believed to be investing a sum AROUND the eight-figure mark”. That doesn’t mean it’s 8 figures it could be close to 8 figures.
agree with that. Methan also states him and SD and JS have just a few weeks before this, put significant funds in. Now you can argue amounts etc, but that to me seems like the Dell boys saying we will put up, if you put up at the minute.

Social media isnt the real world thankfully. Every sensible, knowlegable SAFC is delighted with the news.
Knowledgable 😂 the people who keep saying SD & CM have done great fail to back it up with facts other than the cut costs (any new owner would of done), people who are questioning them have facts as it’s all there for us knowledgeable Sunderland fans to see, -failed last season, -weaker squad this season, -academy failures, -transfers have been poor. -takeover failure (was always an investment tho 🙄). The whole way the club was purchased and the podcasts crap the whole list goes one. But it’s ok.

yeah the should concentrate on that but should the they not have been doing that 18 months ago anyway? my point is decision makers currently have done well so why would that change now.

Some of the posters on here would try to twist on 21 when there were no cards left.

I've been ambivalent at times on the owners, I've praised them for getting the budget under control, supported them for some contentious decisions, but been critical of Ross, their support of him, the scouting, the gamble on Grigg and the lack of a plan B for this season.

But this?
If the money went to another club we'd be talking about them going to 'buy the league the lucky bastards'.

I mean, the season isn't over, but how many times can you type out "around eight figures for a third division club to improve playing staff, scouting and academy" and then post it on a thread that out numbers it ten to one with "but the podcast! / I've been swindled by the club" shite?!
How

I think there is more in the Echo tomorrow anyway.

Got a bit carried away last time so think I'm going to be a bit more 'wait and see' this time. Having such rich people with an interest in your club can only be a good thing but I was hoping they would be more hands on, it was their business expierence and connections I was most interested in rather than their money. Donald and his team have done a poor job here and I'm not sure if I trust them to handle any investment, a lack of money never seemed to be our problem, it was spending it badly that was causing the problems.

I said sensible and knowlegable. Of course things could and should be better on the pitch. However, today 3 billionaires have committed £20m to a L1 club and their mate and business partner is rated at £37billion.

Focus on the positives of where we could be heading, as sensible and knowlegable SAFC fans are doing by looking at the bigger picture, because the football will take care of itself.
