Paid off all the debt he created, due to mismanagement.

Took us down to the 3rd tear of English football and washed his hands of us in his last few seasons.

Paid off all the debt he created, buying us players we otherwise couldn't afford, to try to make us a success. Top marks for effort and for the funding. Sure he made some appointments that failed to deliver what anybody had hoped they would, but I can forgive that. He tried his best and put a significant chunk of his personal wealth into the club to give us some of the best times we've had in my lifetime. The guy deserves a medal and the keys to the city.

you obviously can’t see what’s happened/happening to our club, and i hope I’m wrong about them but if you look at facts it’s been failure after failure, for us to be doing better in this league is not a unrealistic expectation, buying more dead wood players in to replace others wont work, and you honestly don’t think ross picked all them players he got? (donald i want all these players and the all freebies) freebies for a reason most of the time.
Understand your point Marra but until we know the truth we can both only speculate how our transfers played out.
So we will all have different views. None with any real foundation.
I would like to think at this level JR would have final say.
However both Grigg & Wyke had good track records at that level,

The problem with Donald isn’t that he hasn’t got enough money in and of itself. The problem is more that he hasn’t got an answer for any of our issues apart from money. If your only remedy to an issue is to spend - and you also don’t have much money - you’re pretty much boned. If he had any football competence whatsoever his levels of finance wouldn’t even register in this league.
i think this is right.except that he does have much money to spend..vastly more than is needed in this league..even what he spent at eastleigh vastly ouweighs whats needed inthis league..
totally agree and i think we all were surprised when a bloke from eastleigh took it on, he gambled and it will all fall down unless he brings in serious money soon. He has gambled with our football club which is where the problem lies.
we dont need serious money in this league..that the whole point..he has put us in a positon where we dont..no debts..modest losses he can afford to cover fr a long time despite the lies on here..

gambling is what ellis short did when he borrowed at high interest rates to get money to put into the club..

What an arrogant post.

I don’t follow my club week in week out as ‘an act of benevolence’. Outcomes definitely do matter albeit the expected outcomes might be different for us than for you. The reaction to Tuesday Night’s outcome after McNulty missed demonstrated that outcomes DO matter.

To suggest we’re just glad just to stay in the league is disrespectful and ill-informed.

Remind me which club has more recently won a major domestic trophy? Remind me which club is currently higher in the league? Not bad for a charity case reliant on the goodwill of the local community.
take no notice of him mate....most on here have him on ignore

The whole playing squad at all levels is a complete mess ,
Surely the Americans must look at this and think we need rid of this clown asap
Donald saying he wants to be here for a long time !!! Well I remember some of his first words if Sunderland fans want me gone I will not out stay my welcome

Has employed all his pals and let's face it , it has been a shit show at all levels

Fair enough but I dont have much faith in the current set up in getting us promoted there is alot of things wrong with the current first team

It’s not the spending of money that’s the problem, it’s how it’s been spent.

Donald appointing his mate (who he sacked on numerous occasions for being shit in non-league) is proving to be a masterstroke.
Are you talking about Richard Hill. Please don't underestimate him. He's got international experience. He was a technical advisor to the Ethiopian football association. Demands respect.

Whilst I agree with this to a point. They just seem happy being a league one club. It just seems like there’s a small time mentality about the place. Everything just seems short term because they don’t have the coin to invest in it for the future. I ve been supportive of the owners but the lack of scouting network really boils my piss. It’s one of the 1st things you’d sort if you were making long term plans!

Aye. We have surpassed the time where cuts were necessary as we are now supposedly on that even kilter. As I said before I'm not without worry - recent events suggest to me that we have slid back in to short termism down to the sheer desperation of needing to get out of this league (much like the desperation to stay in the Premier league when we were there).

its more about the fact that he worked in every divison in english football including the premierr league...he cant be a coach or manager at a high profile club now because of the qpr INCIDENT..

BUT WEARENT CUTTING BACK..MORE CASH HAS GONE INTO THE ACADMEY (NOT SHRT TERMISTS TO DO THAT) and now to scouting..

his CV is vastly superior to Jack Ross's..no one whined at Ross's CV..

You keep mentioning Jack Ross in relation to Hill. Hill has experience but he has not been successful in his roles. He's a journeyman at best. There's a difference between doing a job and being good at a job. When you look ar a CV you don't just look at where they've worked but how well they've done. Ross had been very successful and was highly rated. Ross could have been the next big thing, there was a question mark. Whereas we already knew Hill would be shit at his job and shouldn't be here because his cv told us that.

Nah it’s a shitshow. Lacking in pace, height, strength, variety, creative players - and despite that horrendous list of missing elements it’s actually too big.

Another Kildare talking point repeated ad nauseum but having no basis in reality. Being a manager in the Scottish championship is far more appropriate to our current level than being a director of football in the conference - or his hallowed stint in sub-Saharan Africa.
