I don't think it is. I think even if you get the spending bang on, the margin would be tiny and there is massive potential for it to go wrong. It doesn't make sense to me if you consider the probable math for longer than 20 seconds.
that's why you are attractive to them though, low buy price due to where you are leave a lot more room to make a profit

I have no issue with SD or CM making a profit at some point because they took a risk and if they do the Club is in a much better place. I think every sensible fan appreciates that.

However, they are custodians of our great club and we have to balance that if we have some pretty serious people wanting to invest they should be trying to make that happen and not holding them to ransom which Im sure they wont be.

If SD and CM pull this deal off they will be legends at SAFC and should never need to buy a pint in the City again.

Honestly I think you bite too much to some on here...of course every club has idiots they arent representative of the vast majority of sensible SAFC fans I know.
If they pull this off

ellis short converted loans to shares throughout his time at safc..
and SD has done it..or will do the conversion soon.
abranamwhich at chelsea has done it as well..
its potentially benficial for tax..but the more common reason is that creditors have more control than shareholders if a company goes bust..so loans give an owner an elemnet of control more than just having the shares woud..

SD has loaned money to SAFC? From an accounting perspective, I thought it had been shown that Madrox actually owed the club money? Have I got the wrong end of the stick @Grumpy Old Man ? If that's the case, what debt can SD convert to equity?

Sorry if I'm being thick here, but how does that work then?
well i think grumpy old man would be needed to explain that,..but i think..he put £5m in as a loan..but he said on one of the podcast he doesnt regard it as a loan and the accoutnant put int down in books as a loan but he doesnt want it back..

but in a seeprate transaction he borrowed £10m from safc..which is down as a loan..

the times article revealing the mesd negotiaon..said he has put more than £10m in since..but whether thats another soft loan or equity we wont know until accounts come out..

But then the best way to do that is to buy 100% of the club while it's at it's lowest point. Buying a minority stake between 3 or 4 of them is loose change returns for these lads.

I think it's far more likely they want to run the club and develop a legacy than they are looking at the $10m each in 4-5 years time if they get to the Prem without a hitch. The fact the holding company isn't going to be MSD Partners surely supports my theory.

msd partners isnt their money..its client money, they wouldnt be mad enoughto put clients into a high risk highly public investment like a lower league football club..

Exactly, so it's a high risk venture for minimal gains for 3 or 4 billionaires? I think the only thing that makes sense is that they want to build something.
