the blokes an absolute fruit loop, become an absolute joke with his touch line bust ups with players and safari themed press conferences. Done shite at derby since Leicester. Strikes me as an appointment based on past glories like moyes. People happy because he’s managed a premier league club once upon a time. Think he’d be awful here.

He has his detractors like all the candidates but what you cannot argue against him is the fact he was the one who put Leicester City in the Premiership in the first place. Ranieri just picked up the ball and kicked it further. Claudio won the title but it was Nige' who put them in the Premiership which enabled them to win the title in the first place. He was one of the main guys who turned the club into what it is today. And it was he who gambled the clubs money on a talent from Fletwood Town.

He must have something about him that means he can turn clubs around and let's face it, it wouldn't take much, virtually a fraction of the effort he put in to making Leicester City a good club, to turn us around and improve us into something vaguely resembling what they started as when he was appointed which is more than good enough for me.

And what of his nature? It may not be Guy Fawkes Night yet but my fooking God do those players need a firework up their cowardly arses. They need some spark from somewhere to get them playing like a player who can beat teams and beat them well. And we need a manager who is no pushover, who can give as good as he gets, who makes it clear he and Sunderland AFC are not to be messed with. Not by the media and press and not by rival fans. Not by anyone.
Holy f***ing shit, I've liked and agree with one of your posts. Wtf is going on 😯😂

Good post. Having read a bit more about him last night I’m coming round to the idea. Best of a bad bunch I think.

The clue, is in the first part, of the fella's surname.
If we're going to sign, Nugent, we may as well, bring in Vic Halom, as his strike partner.

Does come across as a total tosser but id take this dreamteam with him stepping down in 18 month n kev taking the reigns, far less pressure on the lad that way.
Met him socially several times when he was a player. Was in his company in a restaurant in Middlesbrough, I can honestly say that from a personal perspective I didn't like him.

just wears a constant smug ‘i know it all’ grin like.

Fell out with club owners in first stint at Leicester and again when in charge at Derby. Fell out with press over Ostrichgate plus other 'difficult' press conferences. he seems very thin skinned to criticism and could likely wind up supporters when the wins stop.
The SKP package is coming from where and would Nigel be a popular choice without SKP?

Agree totally - can't be assessing him on the basis of a Pearson/SKP team when we don't know SKP would come. Nutcase or not I'd put him at 2 or 3 in my list - well ahead of some of the candidates mentioned.

I think thats tight underkegs

Would take him, quite like the idea of us having an absolute nutter as manager who takes no bullshit.

There is no excuse for this team and club not to be pissing this league.

Hated the fucker as a player at boro, he’s done average to really well during his managerial career. If it does happen I hope he brings super kev with, and was it him that gave that Leicester coach his break or was that later as he seemed highly rated as a coach?.
