The things is with rookie managers they tend to make more mistakes. I’d rather those mistakes were made elsewhere.
The novelty of League 1 has fast worn off and to allow a complete novice to take the job in my view lessens the chance of us getting promotion this year.

Given the choice between Kevin Phillips with 0 games experience as a manager and someone like Cook for example I think it’s a no brainier to opt for Cook.

Well we'll have to agree to disagree. I'm of the opinion the fans need someone to get behind someone who will lift the place. Cook, Stendel etc imo don't do that.


I'm also of the opinion that experience is over rated

If Phillips got the job I’d be 100% behind him. Novices can of course succeed - look at Keane here.

I’m just fed up to the back teeth of League 1 and I don’t care who we appoint as long as we get promoted this season!

100% this.

If we appoint any league one manager i'm going to be completely underwhelmed. We have turned ourselves into a league one club by buying league one players and hiring league one standard managers.

Either aim high and if that's not possible, then it has to be someone to create a bit of a buzz and excitement. I feel only Keane and Phillips would do this.

A couple of wins under Phillips and the place would be bouncing "super super kev"
