James hunter apparently reckons the fans have unrealistic expectations

He’s been negative towards fans in the past if I’m not mistaken. Listening to what he said it’s our fault we’ve been shite for the last five years or so. Getting mauled off the mighty Lincoln playing dogshite football it’s our fault lads and lasses for expecting too much.

We are a half decent manager away from winning more games comfortably than we lose or struggle in.
There are players here who look absolutely lost on the pitch and look like they've never played together.
We concede in every game regardless of opposition.
The bloke in charge is totally lost here.

Is it unrealistic to expect not to get absolutely dicked by Lincoln City. Because if it is I'm happy to be considered unrealistic.

Bolton didn't have more quality we were awful but we had more chances than they did

Their right back would have walked into our side. He was quick, powerful, wanted to get forward & killed us all game. Meanwhile our recruitment team couldn’t look past Conor McLaughlin who’s rubbish & Jack Ross couldn’t look past Luke O’Nien as the starting right back (at that point). Ridiculous imo

I tweeted it's thesame james hunter who said he didnt know why fans thought there was money etc. He asked where he said this. Showed him the screenshots and no reply...

Sorry like but we aren’t an average league one side. We have a joke of a manager and no confidence but we’ve got the best squad in this division by some distance. There’s a reason we were clear bookies favourites preseason this and last as well. There’s a reason every team wants to beat us and why there are so many fans of other teams on here. Every team in the league would swap squads with us. Unfortunately we aren’t using the players we have very well at all.
Which of our fullbacks are the best in the division etc

I think quite a number expect us to win football matches like Saturday, sadly we are quite an average League 1 side, as soon as they realise that the better.

There's not many that don't realise we are a pretty average League 1 side and that's what quite rightly people are pissed off about and so they should be. Do you not expect to win games in this league? If you don't surely you ask questions why that is the case? Largest budget in the league, spending massive money on the player who has scored more goals at this level than anyone currently playing and not getting a tune out of him. A winger playing in the 3rd tier with 100 international caps, champions league experience and voted in the league team of the season last year. A Scottish international goalkeeper, other international players. Do you think its reasonable to expect players signed to improve slightly over time like Flanagan, Baldwin before he was shipped out, Power, McGeouch, Wyke rather than get even worse? This is Sunderland in league 1 and we have every right to expect to win games with huge advantages over the teams we play against.

The sooner you realise that the better.

I agree with that i think our scouting is almost as bad as the manager

He also says that the assumption that the squad is one of the best in the league needs to be removed and Ross is getting as much out of them as they're capable of.

I keep hearing this claim. I’d love to know which squads in this league they’d swap for ours and think Ross would manage to get them higher than 6th. R

He was mint last week when they lost 6-0. Perhaps these players just raise their game for a one off and return to being equally as shit?

Said on the latest RR podcast I'm reading on Twitter....

Who mentioned 100 points? Who mentioned 20 clean sheets? Who came out and said there was no excuses this time? It wasnt the fans james...

Also the same journalist who questioned why the fans thought we had money to spend. Maybe because the week before the owner said on a podcast we did and had bids out.

Fans fault again though? Pisses me right off honestly.

He said on Twitter last week, we all had to stop being so negative toward Ross. Like he’s doing a good job ffs

I’m sure I had a back and forth with him a few years ago on twitter, he’s always ran with the narrative of fans fault.

sure i did about Moyes, he won’t accept criticism or admit he's wrong. Doesn’t look like he’ll criticise club either, too much to lose

Or maybe it was just their first game together. Probably that seeing as their other games have been 0-0 and 0-1
