That doesn't make any sense to me?

Why would a multi-millionaire business man want to take a full time salaried position? I mean in League 1 the salary can't be much more £150k? Surely?

He's still a young man with a business portfolio but he is basically going to retire so he can work for Sunderland?
Because the club has got to him and I believe that he genuinely has affection for the area and people.

Can I still have my 4 weeks off first? ;)
I’d say you’ve earned it. As long as you use the time to draw up a shortlist of further appointees for key positions. There’s a Spanish lad currently engaged on a project in China that could have potential as head of hospitality and catering.

Martin Samuel on the Sunday Supplement -

“Proper takeovers aren’t done in public”

He was referring to Newcastle but maybe he has a point.

I don’t think he would see it as retirement but rather that it’s his ambition to run a premier league club.

He has achieved one ambition by buying a “big club” - but understandably he doesn’t want to leave it before our potential has been realised.

It’s not just about a salaried position - the implication is that SD doesn’t want to sell all his shares but rather wants the financial benefits that would come from outside investment getting us back to the premier league, while keeping a percentage of the club ownership.

He took a big risk on us and I certainly wouldn’t begrudge him wanting to reap the full rewards of that risk.

Can we let this be a collective reminder that the majority on here with a reputation of being "ITK" have a persona to upkeep and even when they know the square root of fuck all, will go along with the narrative to scalp some credit if they happen to be right.

Hopefully the deal is finalised and announced asap, but I've just resigned myself to the fact that it will happen when it happens... If it happens, ofcourse.
Aye, nobody say fuck all and leave this 2nd thread to die also! ;) Did some people overlook the title of the original thread? It was called Takeover RUMOURS and not Takeover FACTS ;)

It was supposed to be a thread so people can post whatever shit they hear, see or read from anywhere so other people can 'discuss' it. Some so called ITK stuff may be interesting info passed on in good faith, some speculation and some just pure bollocks but that's what most would still like to hear and make their own judgement. The problem was, certain posters as mentioned are mood hoovers or have a dislike to other posters so then it becomes a slanging match. Of course people can disagree with what is said and some do but then when a certain amount of posters, which I can count on my fingers, keep regurgitating the same old shite even brining up stuff from weeks ago then it just spoils the thread and people either get wound up, sick of the bickering or just fuck off

I often wonder why anyone with enough cash wouldn’t want to retire, but if I was a millionaire and were to continue working, I’d want to do something I enjoy as it’s not really work if you enjoy it and the pay which you don’t really need is simply a bonus. Saying that, I’m not one for chasing the money so I’d never be in that position.

Today’s Sun reports takeover may not happen.
I presume you mean the physical Sunday Sun paper? Who wrote the article? David Coverdale? If so, it's old news and Donald has tweeted it's shite in reply to the online Sun article from yesterday ;)

Just to add to this, I think the vast majority on here, over 90% I'd say would like to hear ever snippet of info to then make their own judgement on it and possibly discuss it without childish insults and jibber jabber. So fuck if a few on here think that others are adding sprinkles of make believe or wanting attention, as long as all info is shared and we can have discussion that doesn't end up with
