SAFC Takeover Latest

It hasn’t been as far as I know. Just speculation on here I think

At the talk in at Consett, SD mentioned that he “doesn’t know if they want him”.

He has also said, in the context of takeovers;

“with all of them, I've expressed a wish to stay here for minimum 5 years but hopefully 10, erm, and I expressed that wish to Mark Campbell. Now some people don't want that...”

Within the context of the takeover not being as advanced as people were hoping; it’s not unreasonable to suggest that this is why.

The fact they dont have the money and people are getting fed up with league one/jack ross.

Plus the resentment over losing this takeover.
I think you may be assuming that there are individuals out there petty and small minded enough to be “fed up “ at this point. And to totally disregard the fact that they have turned the club into something attractive enough to bring the kind of interest from this calibre of potential investor.
Personally if it were to go tits up at the last minute, I’d be disappointed but I’d realise that these things can happen with deals such as this. I certainly wouldn’t think any less of the owners for it.

Buying something just to sell it a year later, great

Well there’s no plan this season like. Our football brains are tony cotton and richard hill

It is possible for them to have a plan and appoint people they have faith in and it not to work out. That's life, it happens the world over. It doesn't mean they have not had a plan in the first place. Things generally aren't so black and white.

I'm in two minds about SD's and Charlies continued involvement should the takeover go through.

It should be noted that I'm very grateful for firstly, them being interested at all when we were in deep trouble as a club. Secondly they have put everything into it over the last 18 months. They also been open with the fans and fantastic generally with regards to communication. Not to mention a complete turnaround of the clubs finances. And until the playoff final there was generally speaking a decent buzz about the club.
Theres alot of positives there.

Which brings us to on the pitch. This is where is becomes a bit more debatable.

Could we, should we have been promoted last season? Even amongst the turmoil, should Sunderland be bouncing straight back from league 1? And even if you call it a season of transition, could we, should we be doing better this season?

SD recruited Ross, Coton and Hill. If they arent good enough (if that's your view) can we have confidence, as a continued Chairman, he will pick any better going forward? He never achieved his football aim at Eastleigh despite a huge budget. Are SD and Charlie too comfortable in league 1, which seems to be 'their' familiar stomping ground.

And can you actually go from being owner and top man in an organisation, to being an employee of new owners? Would that even work? Not convinced I could do that.

I'm not convinced they'll keep them on to be honest
Agree with this,i would keep them but install dof for all apointments going forward

I've expressed a wish to stay here for minimum 5 years but hopefully 10, erm, and I expressed that wish to Mark Campbell.
That doesn't make any sense to me?

Why would a multi-millionaire business man want to take a full time salaried position? I mean in League 1 the salary can't be much more £150k? Surely?

He's still a young man with a business portfolio but he is basically going to retire so he can work for Sunderland?

Lip service

He’s always said he’d do what was best for the club, you can only hope he’s as good as his word and that if the takeover is dependent on him leaving he’d leave. He’d put himself in a very difficult position if it became known it collapsed because of him insisting he stayed

Simple as that- we have the facts which are what comes from owners mouth, we have the itk’s where posters had some info and wanted to make people feel good- then we have the fabricators- those twisting the facts to make a negative outcome- the bottom line is this- if the yanks had lost interest donald would have to say deal is off as it would not be possible to string it out and Dell would also say as would effect their shares / prospects - they are buying the house and still negotiating terms- donald must truly now know we are a town full of nutters cos of this thread- an insight to desperate people ( we all are desperate for the dream)

I listen to nobody claiming to be "in the know" it's usually some whisper they have heard down the pub or from a mate who falsely told them they used to work in the offices and heard it there. Without proof there is no "in the know" it will happen when it happens if at all. The person that was claiming to be "in the know" said it was all done, if that was true Stewart wouldn't have said 50/50 or whatever it was, heard it from the horses mouth and that's the best place to hear it from not some "in the know" on here.
To be fair, if it wasn’t for people posting rumours/gossip, this place would be very quiet. That’s what makes forums like this one so popular. It’s certainly livened up this last month when very little official has been released.

As long as people don’t post blatant lies then I’m quite happy to read any supposed ITK rumour. Most people are capable of ignoring the obvious bullshit like the Sun twitter stuff and taking the rest with a pinch of salt. It’s also entertaining watching the mood hoovers having a meltdown at the thought of something potentially positive happening.

Maybe Ross is managing a league one side because he wouldn't twist on 11.

Off the field it cant have been easy managing safc since donald took over- he has had to keep safc near top knowing that profile and pressure there to keep safc saleable- he is too cautious but maybe for a reason- he gets till xmas- haway ross lad prove us wrong- you can do it

Yep his money will come in from his portfolio anyway .Setting office up intown aswell remember

Haha aye- this bastard club man- i have one helluva vista before me, lazy sax and snare rims float over the breeze as glasses clink with ice cubes and the sun bleaches my white skin- foreign accents mutter and waiters seem to appear then disappear almost at the same time- this paradise yet here i am, on a phone looking at a thread trying to add my perspective to a deaperate debate on the club, i , for a few moments, believed were playing in champs league and we were winning,..all of us mad bastards were for once, winning
