I just believe the bloke was passing on information. He's got no reason to lie...why would he when he's well known in person by many on this board and is known for helping our fans out on a regular basis.

there is some credence to this mind.

the club or someone connected to the club had clearly been briefing the local media including ALS and RR that it was at a very advanced stage or maybe even done. Surely even ALS, who would knock up a promotional t shirt for Jack the Ripper if he was to rise from the dead and sign for us, wouldn’t have knocked out a load of t shirts if it was nowhere near done?

it appears that some complications may have arisen in the process, hopefully not enough to derail the whole thing
 
I'm not sure there was anything else SD could say, by saying 1 to 2 weeks he dampens down the expectation of an announcement over the weekend which was rumoured by various media outlets
